My family is my biggest motivation to be a better person mentally and physically! My biggest inspiration comes From Paul Mathews @childhood_cancer_fighter_dad Besides being a humble and good human being, he does so much for kids who have cancer and is a voice and hope for them and their families. I think about these kids and what they have to experience every single time I workout, run whatever. I get tired but I don’t quit because not everyone can do this and the rest of us are blessed to be able to enjoy life and there is no excuse for anyone to not take care of themselves. Second meal of day 3. Egg white omelet with mushrooms and tomatoes. Honestly, if you don’t like cooking, meal prepping is not for you 😂 but if you do enjoy it, it is so worth the work. Not having to think what I am going to eat next is such a relief!!!! I’ve been loving it. The way it’s been working out for me is prepping my meals for the day as soon as I have breakfast (5.30 am). I like doing that while jack is still asleep and I have the kitchen to myself. After that I do my AM cardio on my Pilates machine. Work for the rest of the day (yes I have a job😂) play with my boy, and later hit the gym and do my PM cardio. Long post warning! 🚨 sorry for the #doublepost
My inspiration for this challenge is the beautiful woman pictured here. I lost my grandmother in July of 2017, and I have never been the same since. Countless days I’ve wanted to pick up the phone and call her to get her advice, or just to hear her voice again. I spent a good few months absolutely miserable, depressed, questioning why I was getting up every morning to go workout, why work mattered, why did I have to do anything anymore. I took the worst route possible, and stopped eating well, and drowned my sorrows with alcohol. I had countless friends worried and trying to help, but to me, it was the only way I knew how to cope. I’m typically not an outwardly emotional person, and alcohol allowed me to let my emotions out. It was the worst decision I have made in a long time.
I have lived my entire life trying to make my family proud of me and my decisions, and I let them down as well as myself. As of this post, I have now gone 11 days without a drop of alcohol, even with multiple opportunities and temptations.
My tattoo, that has been seen by many through my constant shirtless photos is my guiding principle. My grandmother is always in my heart, and now is ON my heart. Every single day I say a short and quick “hey gram, I love you, I miss you” and it keeps me going.
This challenge isn’t about physique or bodybuilding to me. This challenge is about me and my health overall. My mental health being top of the list. I have spent countless days, weeks, months and years, where my personal struggles with self love have caused me to hurt others (not physically). I’m spending the next 12 weeks trying to remedy that situation.
I will come out of this challenge maybe not in the best shape of my life, but I will be the best me I can be. The quote is the most fitting thing I keep telling myself: “why do we fall? So we can learn to pick ourselves up” keep getting up everyone, keep pushing, no matter your goals. You and you alone can make or break your goals, regardless what they may be. Stay strong everyone!

Just some thoughts for today...when you want something bad enough, you make it happen. The time it takes is more than worth the result when you are consistent enough. I came from over 200lbs...I yo-yo’d. I’d tried weight loss supplements (and messed myself up in the process), had cookie cutter plans for people with smaller goals (no disrespect to those-it just wasn’t what was right for me or what I want), so I’ve been there....take the time to do it right. You don’t know until you know, so follow people who give real information, not fake perpetuation of glamour and glitz-it takes hard work, time, it hurts, it’s discipline, but-loves, you ARE WORTH IT!
