Vast salt lakes are the remains of Australia’s ancient river systems. This spectacular image of Wilkinkarra, the largest ephemeral salt lake in Australia, was taken on the Kiwirrkurra Indigenous Protected Area Bush Blitz in 2015.
When dry, the lake is a largely inhospitable environment. However after big rains the area bursts into life and becomes a breeding ground for thousands of water birds.
While it looks like a rugged environment, salt lakes and the wildlife 🦂🦐🦅🌿that depend on them are influenced by changes in the climate, particularly changes that affect rainfall and evaporation levels. #nationalwaterweek

It all started with a game of disc golf... then from a mutual like of the northshore, new girl, and friends, and she's already 20! They grow up so fast!! Happy Birthday Mackenzie! Thanks for being so awesome! I look forward to see what God has planned for you! And to all the adventures to come!
Dream Scape: There is something special about the Dal Lake in Srinagar. I find people talking about the fact that it is getting very polluted and almost choking with weed now. Hell I say that myself a lot too! But sometimes there is an almost constant magic hie that falls across the Dal. I like to believe it is the undying 'SPIRIT' of the Dal that is keeping its beauty alive.
