4/5 stars. Tian Jin Dumpling House. Lamb dumpling with green squash. Another hidden gem in Flushing NY’s Golden Shopping Mall basement! $6 for 12 dumplings- such a great value for delicious dumplings! The meat was really tender, juicy and well spiced. It was perfect with the chili too! The dumpling wrapper held up really well while maintaining a soft chewy texture. I do wish it had a little bit more squash. Will definitely order again! #dumplings#asianfood#chinesefood#foodcourt
Who's headed to the @unitedcenter for the @chicagobulls game tonight? Swing by for dinner before or after the game! Lots of awesome new dishes on the menu to checkout, like this Striped Bass.👆🏻#edeninchicago
I went to my first food festival in North Carolina and it made this food blogger from Texas feel right at home. This chamomile panna cotta by @il_palio was heavenly. Bravo @terravitafest! 👏👏👏 #lindaeatsnc
@milkandeggscom 🍳 Eating bomb food doesn’t have to be expensive. Swordfish steak, New York Strip, Two Lobster tails, Sautéed Mushrooms, Bacon Brussel Sprouts. 😆 Had so much fun cooking at home for a fraction of the price you would pay for at a restaurant. 🍽 #milkandeggs
I gotta work on my fitness...fitness sandwich in my mouth! One of my favorites from today was this (huge!) Kalua Pork Sandwich from @tradewinds_byob 🌺🐷The meat was juicy and flavorful and the slaw and sauce really pulled everything together! Definitely will be back to try out the actual restaurant...
Brunch at @lacalacafeliz
Nachos w/ Short Rib: housemade chips, black bean, queso, árbol chile, poblano peppers, roasted corn, house-pickled jalapeño, guajillo braised short rib.
Stuffed French Toast: brioche, plantains and apples, whipped cream, maple syrup, pepitas, cinnamon.
Another well regarded restaurant for nachos in Philly: 3 bell Laban claiming these are a "masterwork of tortilla architecture". Very well thought out dish. First of all, it comes in a piping hot plate so throughout the whole experience you have the "fresh out of the oven" feel. Chips have a delicate crunch - not as hearty as the usual mexican restaurant tortilla chip - and excellent corn flavor. They are partially soaked in juices from the meat/salsa for a light chew that is complemented by stringy milky cheese. Corn and mild poblanos combine to provide clever background sweetness. Jalapeños are not spicy or strongly pickled; playing mostly a "pop" texture role. If there is a slight fault, it is the short rib which is more chewy and dry than the one at @los.camaradas.
And the French Toast....booooyyyy. Fantastic. This is what would be created if a cinnamon roll and a strudel had a baby. Might be tied with the one at La Colombe for my favorite in town. Overall, it is so deeply creamy between the whipped cream, supremely tender brioche, and lightly tangy cream cheese frosting filling. Sweetness is kept under perfect control and comes off incredibly natural between the apples, maple, and denser plantains. Loved it!
Kind staff, clean & efficient establishment, fair prices.
Strongly recommended. Will be back.
Chocolate banana donuts with mocha icing & almond butter drizzle 🍩
You guys I am SO happy with how these turned out! They are full of all the goodness you could want! I posted the mocha icing recipe in my previous post & today am sharing the chocolate banana donut recipe! They will also make delicious muffins if you don't have a donut pan- I use a silicon donut pan I got off Amazon for really cheap & the donuts popped right out once they were cooled! These are amazing paired with a coffee or tea in the morning or as a little afternoon pick me up☕️
Chocolate Banana Donuts 🍌
2 medium rip bananas
1/4 cup almond butter
1/4 cup @leesprovisions maple ghee, melted (this stuff is seriously incredible!)
2 tsp vanilla extract
Pinch of pink salt
1 tsp cinnamon
1 tsp baking powder
1/4 cup cacao powder (I love @ecoideas )
1/4 cup @swervesweetie or @lakantosweetener (or sweetener of choice)
2 scoops @furtherfood collagen
2 tbs coconut flour (I love @bobsredmill & @nutiva brands)
1/4 cup chocolate chips (I love @lilys_sweets_chocolate sugar free chocolate chips- they are sweetened with stevia & so delicious!)🍫
Preheat the oven to 350 C. In a large bowl mash the banana until there are no larger pieces. Add all of the other ingredients except the eggs & chocolate chips & use a hand or stand mixer and mix for about a minute until the batter is smooth. Add the eggs and mix them in gently until incorporated, then add the chocolate chips in and gently mix those as well. Grease a donut pan or muffin pan (I love @stfrancisherbfarm ghee/coconut oil spray- this stuff is magic!) and fill until 3/4 full. Bake for about 12-15 minutes, checking regularly so that they don't overlook! You want the top to bounce back when you touch it & you know they are done! Let cool fully & then ice with the mocha icing from my last post! I also added a square of chopped up 90% dark chocolate @lindt_chocolate & mixed some @bulletproof XCT oil with some almond butter & drizzled that over top of them- SO good! Let me know if you guys make these & what you think- I hope you love them & have a great weekend everyone✨
