@farleymakesmead asked me to brew an "imperial cream ale" so here's my cream ale recipe scaled up to a malt liquor.
Approximately 69% 6-row, 9% each flaked corn, flakes barley, and Munich light, and 4% CaraPils. Bittered to ~17 IBUs with a 15-minute Cluster addition and then an unknown amount of IBUs from a big Huell Melon flameout addition. To me, Huell Melon gives off strawberry notes in addition to the more obvious melon rind, which will hopefully pair well with the strawberries I was asked to add to this beer in secondary.
Fermenting at 55° with Saflager 34/70 since it's the only lager yeast I had on hand. I'll pull it to room temp in a week, and a week after that rack it onto a whole mess of strawberries, because those little shits do not give up their essence easily.
