The Oregon Zoo has a new resident! After being rescued from the California coast, this two-month-old sea otter pup is settling into the zoo's Stellar Cove nursery, where he's learning to dive and groom himself. The marine life staff says his favorite meal so far is shrimp.
Petition to replace crosswalk signs with this? 🌴🌴🌴 Just kidding, but someone did send me a petition for something more important... Light pollution in Florida! Check my story to check it out 💙
Light pollutution on beaches can confuse baby sea turtles and misdirect them when they are trying to get to the ocean. If we demand that hotels etc use less light or different colored lights, we could really make a difference!

The colorful hermit crab doesn’t stay in the same home its whole life. Instead, it scavenges an empty shell from a variety of other species and carries the shell with its tail and abdomen. As the colorful hermit crab ages, it must find new, larger shells that can accommodate its growing body. 📸: Shutterstock #ocean#crabs#marinelife
Another epic video from @budo_fishing this is only day 1 of 2. He couldn't get enough fishing in. And some great sportsman @guesswho117 @the_fallen_lau8 just killed it. I'm happy to take anyone out and just enjoy the catch. We are all here to share the experience.
📷@oneoceanglobal - Sad news coming from #oneoceanglobal ambassador @shark_siren from #NewSouthWales with @apexharmony regarding #sharknets . These nets have been proven ineffective and cause needless deaths of marine life while not preventing shark encounters! Follow them for more information and ways to help! ・・・
This is one of the hardest days I have encountered so far since joining the @apexharmony campaign in 2014.
It was hard because my colleagues found FIVE RAYS IN ONE NET at Seven Mile Beach in Lennox Head, NSW. .
1 Eagle Ray and 4 Mobula Rays. 2 were alive, and thankfully we managed to get them released.
It was a hard day to see these images of creatures which are so majestic in the water, suffer so cruelly in nets which do nothing to protect ocean users.
It's also hard because the NSW and QLD Governments publicly have stated that they won't be removing them, with the support of Ballina Shire Council. Along with Federal "Environment" Minister Josh Frydenberg, ignoring extensive advice and evidence as shown in the released senate inquiry report.
But as hard as it may be.. we won't give up. For the oceans 💙🦈🐳🐠
Sunday , it is time to play! Always a great time watching these guys play in the Cunningham Inlet estuary. Cunningham Inlet is one of the most important places for belugas in the high arctic during the summer months. The shallow warm waters provide sanctuary. Grateful for the time photographing these guys at @arcticwatch
