DO YOU MIND WAITING?
Some months ago, I was at a memorial service for my pastor’s late wife. One of her favourite songs was Juanita Bynum’s “I don’t mind waiting”
It was a favourite of mine during my single years so I started singing it whilst reminiscing.
As I was singing, God stopped me in my spirit and asked “will you wait? Do you not mind waiting?” I didn’t stop singing but started pondering that song in my spirit. As I sang the words a bit more consciously, He asked again “do you not mind waiting?” At that point, I broke down crying. I don’t mean pretty tears but wreck your makeup, snot from the nose kind of tears.
Because you see, even though I had been trusting God up till that point, I hadn’t totally surrendered my desire for my children in that way to Him. I hadn’t totally said “you know what, Your plans and Your time”
So there and then, with all the fear in my heart knowing I was turning a corner with God, I said “yes, I don’t mind waiting for You and Your time and plans concerning this area of my life”
So I ask you today, do you mind waiting for God? .
