"Wesley, get my son, I need to know if he completed the job." His voice would echo amidst the office he accompanied. Wilson Fisk stood upon the highest floor of his tower. His eyes scanning about the marvelous painting that could only be described as the New York City skyline. His hands clutched the metallic cane that witnessed such malevolence and bloodshed in the past. However, this weapon was only sheathed upon worthy warriors. Adversaries worth the price of admission. Jack Murdock, he was worthy. Franklin Nelson, was not. He was merely a cockroach that roamed through the cracks and interior of his home until he grew irritated enough to eradicate the festering annoyance. "Sir, the deed is done. The head was dropped off at Murdock's front door an hour ago." A small chortle emitted from the lips of Wilson as he turned to face his best friend with a smile engrossed with malicious intent. "The world believes that I'm a capricious monster? Let's just show them how vengeful I can be." Matthew's phone would sound off as he lay collapsed on his sofa with a bottle of Jack Daniel's in his left hand, nearly touching the floor. He groaned as he heard the noise and ignored the ringing abundance of sound coming from his cell. He was a depressed wreck. No other way about it. He was depressed and on the outs of wanting to live. He had lost his brother, yet found himself wanting vindication. Vengeance instead of justice, to the point of calling Frank Castle for assistance in a drunken brigade of yelling. Normally, anyone with half a mind would simply ignore the whines and pleads of vengeance from a drunken soul. Frank Castle? Well, he's no ordinary man.
"Remember Matthew, you stick to books you understand me? Become a lawyer. Make something of yourself. Not like me. Do not become me. Use your mind for school, not fighting. Got it?" "Yes, Papa, I promise." The world was different back then. It was happier. The pair of them living in a mundane apartment tucked deep within Hell's Kitchen. It was dark around them yet at it's soul, Mattie's apartment was a beacon of light within the piece of Manhattan. He was strong. His heart in the right place with a father who cared. Cared, yet had a tumultuous track record of losses occuring upon entering his forties. Losses attract critics, critics retreat buyers and buyers were what made Jack's manager money. His name was Ted 'The Brainiac' Saxon. He was a grizzled war veteran. Fifty five years old and no plans on getting any younger. He was displeased with the amount of losses Jack Murdock accumulated over the last two years. Age was catching up with 'The Devil'. Age as well as the attraction of alcoholic beverages. He would be sure to stay sober around Matthew. However, hours before a fight, he would turn to the poison of his liver. It numbed the pain during the fights he said. Kept him more focused and less restrained he claimed. This deteriorated his fighting skills. Giving up on the aging fighter, Ted had one last effort to make money off of him. On a Tuesday night, winter was coming around and for the fighters it was their off season. Matthew's father only had two more fights before he was scheduled off. One against a fighter named John Romita Jr. And the next against Mark Millar. Ted visited Jack in his locker room to discuss the matter at hand. Throwing the fight. It was a dig at every prized fighter before him, but little did Jack know, his son would be watching the fight for him tonight. (CIC)
Claire: Okay, that right there? That's what I'm talking about. Okay, I find a guy in a dumpster who turns out to be some kind of blind vigilante who can do all of this really weird shit like smell cologne through walls and sense whether someone's unconscious or faking it. Slap on top of that, he can take an unbelievable amount of punishment without one damn complaint.
Matt: The last part's the Catholicism.
