I came to Memphis for an education and a boy. The first is still in progress and the boy came and went, but I found something so odd and so unexpected that it deserves a mushy post. Yesterday, Memphis Escape Rooms celebrated their second birthday. My tenure there will hit two years in October, but what that number and timeline can't express is the sense of family and belonging that working here has allowed me. I make a living challenging people, having them believe in magic, and loving something in a city that has so much beauty under all of its rough edges. In doing so, I have found incredible friends who started as mere coworkers that have held my hand through hard times and accepted me when I've made that a difficult task. I am surrounded by brilliant, sharp and gentle people who love Memphis, puzzles, and (somehow) me. Thank you for everything, MER. I probably could have made it without you, but I certainly wouldn't want to. #faMERly#MERmaids#happyMERthday @memphisescaperooms
