I'm NOTORIOUS for overpacking and have very little shame in my game. I also procrastinate when it comes to packing which is probably why I overpack. Now that we have a little one I decided to start packing a week and a half early. I'm also super excited for Greyson's first trip to the place I love to call home. Anyone have any tips on traveling with an infant on a red eye? Asking for a friend 😝...
So grateful I got to spend the day with my buddy at the #downsyndromeawarenesswalk today!!! Hard to believe we started doing this walk to celebrate and raise awareness ELEVEN YEARS ago. We have learned so much from Killian and want to spread that love, awareness and acceptance for years to come!!! We love you, Killian!! #morealikethandifferent
Today was our first ever buddy walk. As I stood in the crowd, surrounded by hundreds of people all there to support the life of people like Oliver I couldn't help but tear up. So much negativity has surrounded our community as of late and to stand in a sea of smiling faces celebrating and cheering and loving so deeply, I wondered why it took us so long to get here. It was sweltering out, Oliver was overwhelmed, and our team only had 5 people on it where others had close to 100, but we did what we came to do. I am so thankful for my sister, her boyfriend, and our family friend that joined Bryan and I today. I will never be able to explain the gratitude I have that they chose to come and support him ❤️
We don’t always have to agree with a person’s choice but the beauty of the freedom we all hold so near and dear is a person’s right to choose. We learn more when we listen and seek to understand another person’s choices (especially if we cannot relate) as opposed to attacking them and considering them wrong (because we cannot relate). Our conversation with each other may or may not change our beliefs but my prayer is that it will change our hearts. ❤️ Happy Sunday.
Hello Friends at Mamalode, my name is Maria @mommytor_az I will be taking over and share my day with you. I have many titles. I'm a mother, a wife, a writer/author, Down syndrome advocate...the list goes on. I have two precious daughters, a 9 year old Ana Maria who is sweet, loving and kind, she wished and prayed for a sister and then our little Jordan Grace came along, she is 3 and living the beauty of Down syndrome. She is full of life, full of love and full of Worth! I met hubby when I traveled to Canada to stand at a friend's wedding. When we shook hands for the first time I felt electricity and the rest as they say is history. Hope you enjoy meeting my precious little family!
It's buddy walk day! Our first ever! Our team my not be huge and our donations are small but I am so happy we get to experience this and now I'm questioning what took me so long to participate! Oliver is having a blast!
Hooray! Yesterday proved to be a great day at @specialolympics Bowling for our team from school - both Caleb and his classmate scored blue ribbons 🥇😊 But one of the best things was seeing what fun the boys and their volunteers had together during the day. (Swipe!)
I was fortunate to be part of the planning committee for a new campaign in Jacksonville, encouraging "typical" people to get to know people with Intellectual and Developmental differences, by volunteering and other ways of interaction. It's called "ConnectableJax", with a website filled with information, opportunities and a Pledge form. The goal is to help raise awareness about people with IDDs, focusing on #abilities over #disabilities and even let potential employers know that our folks can bring their gifts and talents to the workforce. By bringing everyone together, we are hoping to encourage a more inclusive community. As evident by the smiles on everyone's faces yesterday, it certainly was the case at our bowling alley. 😊 Learn more by visiting @connectablejax !

Watch out world, because here he comes! Here's another milestone for all of us to celebrate together. This guys life is so amazing and every step he takes may take longer or be harder, but he can do it. He can do anything anyone else can do. Wait a moment and your life will be blessed in ways you would never have expected. He's more than a diagnosis, he's just like you and me! #mightyenzo#dsawareness#choosekind#downsyndrome#t21#uniquebydesign#morealikethandifferent
