I've posted this before, but it's just so good... A few years ago, just hours before I wadded myself in Texas. It was a bit chilly, low 20's, paired with a 50mph wind chill, real cold.
Thankfully my 26 year old @aerostich along with 6 layers of hoodies, thermals and heated vest protected my fragile boyish frame from any serous damage. Though the little phalanges didn't fare too well, never been right since.

So I know this isn’t exactly fitness related, but since fitness has a wide meaning of health, wellbeing and bettering yourself, it’s important there is still a ‘you’ to better!!
Last night resulted in my 4th or 5th Motorbike crash resulting in writing off my Kawasaki Ninja ZX-6R😢🤕. They say any crash that you walk away from is a good crash (all be it hobble away😅). But I can honestly say this was due to the gear I was wearing;
- [ ] Full Alpinestar motorcycle one piece
- [ ] Shoei motorcycle racing spec helmet
- [ ] Alpinestar Gloves
- [ ] Alpinestar racing boots
Most damage to the bike is just too expensive to repair in relation to the price of the bike, and the garage still has the bike so don’t know the full extent of the damage.
All but the one piece leathers will need replacing obviously (note the mad head spin I done on my helmet)!
You can see by the pictures the damage that could and would have happened if I wasn’t wearing any protective gear.
This is why we dress as a power ranger!! Doesn’t just look dope it has a purpose.
I see people everyday riding with no gear, just in a hoodie (my hoodie was over my leathers) joggers/jeans and cringe at everyone. The state they would end up in if they crashed would be a horror show!!
Please tag anyone who you feel would benefit from this post.
❗️PLEASE WEAR PROTECTIVE GEAR❗️
So this post isn’t for likes, comments or whatever just to spread the word that in life shit happens and 99% of the time you can’t do much about it. However saying that riding a bike you can eliminate or reduce the risk.
Ride hard but Be safe 👊
