This is going to be an honest review of my recent Afternoon Tea experience at The Ritz. Firstly, I would like to add that I have attended about thirteen or so Afternoon Tea’s in London and the majority of them had exceeded my expectations. I have been to The Ritz a number of times for drinks and meals. However, my experience for Afternoon Tea at The Ritz was anything but enjoyable or pleasant - I didn’t feel the waiters were very welcoming and, the atmosphere wasn’t relaxed at all, the waiters seemed to be rushing around constantly attending to all the tables. The sandwiches were extremely poor and tasted cheap and nasty ( the bread seemed dry and stale ) The scones were nice and the pastries mediocre at best. And, the most disgusting thing of all a waiter not far from behind me sneezed extremely loudly without covering his mouth ( absolutely shocking and disgusting behaviour from a 5 star hotel that apparently has a reputation to live up to ) To my dismay when I turned around the waiter apologised. I had very high hopes for the Afternoon Tea to be a wonderful and memorable experience but sadly it was rather disappointing. You do not expect such poor service and below average food from a first class hotel like The Ritz. It was overpriced at £54 for what you got and I could not recommend anyone going here for the experience - there are far better places to choose for Afternoon Tea such as The Dorchester, The Lanesborough, The Savoy and Claridge’s which offer a far better experience, service and quality of food. The Ritz should be ashamed of it’s self for trading on it’s name and not living up to the 5* star experience you would expect from such a high end establishment.
🐾had so much fun walking around London today even though it was kinda chilly and the winds were crayy (esp on the Millennium Bridge)
