Helloooo from Jogja! 😆🙌🏽❤️

“That we leave our homes, that we step through our doors to the world, that we travel our whole lives not because we want to collect exotic T-shirts, not because we want to consume foreign adventure the same Western way we consume plastic and Styrofoam and LCD TVs and iPads, but because it has the power to renew us—not the guarantee, not the promise, just the possibility. Because there are places our imaginations can never construct for us, and there are people who we will never meet but we could and we might. It reminds us that there is always reason to begin again.” -Stephen Markley, Tales of Iceland or "Running with the Huldufólk in the Permanent Daylight". Under the ice in a different world. A place that’s quiet and demands respect. Awe. Inspiration for the imagination. Ice caves in Skaftafell Wilderness 💙❄️💙
Egrets, silos, flooded crops and Buttes. Woodruff Lane has something different going on with it every time I have the pleasure to ride its waves and potholes on my commute from Nevada City to Chico, CA 🦅
#happyweekend#brunchtime#Repost @theweeklypicnic
Cheers to the weekend! 🍾
Scenic views • A few months ago, we visited Lost Maples and took the rugged, steep route so we could check out the scenic overlook. I got heat exhaustion and was dehydrated. Needless to say, I didn’t make it all the way up. Today, we made it to the overlook with no issues and I feel very accomplished. 👍🏻
We admired the garden roses in the bouquet, dressed for the weather, reapplied our lipstick, and set out for the day. In the brisk wind we walked arm in arm until we settled in at the corner restaurant where stories of Texas army days and red alligator heels were told between sips of Lambrusco and infectious giggling. It was the perfect way to celebrate 92, Happy Birthday Nan🖤
#TravelDiaries Day 4 And 5: Khajuraho. Had a wonderful time is this quaint town with the most exquisitely carved temples dating a 1000 years back. The stone sculptures are extraordinary in their detailing and were so much more than what they appear in pictures- of which all of us have seen so many.....
Now I'm officially home. 😉Spent almost all of the day shopping with my mom at a few of my favorite stores; reminding myself that I don't need material indulgences in my life for fulfillment, purpose, or true joy, but getting in some retail therapy all the same. 😌😁
Discovering new things and getting awed by it 💗
I never thought that India would have states like Rajasthan that have dry landscapes. In fact this encompasses the Thar Desert (the world's 17th largest desert!). 😍
How about you? What are things that you've discovered in your travels that you never thought would exist there? • • •
