Jay has been working with me for about two months now and we're starting to see some serious progress. Over the past two months we've developed core strength, flexibility, coordination and aerobic capacity. All of these are traits needed to reach his goals. Continued progress is what we're all about. If you're interested in personal training at the gym or remote feel free hit the dm!
Happy #flexfriday 💪🏻 Starting the weekend off right with a heavy chest day. Hit a 245 lb PR on bench couldn't be more pumped up about it👍🏻 Iv never had a strong bench press so it's great to see progress 💯#bulkingseason 🍂
Check out @klp.insta killing her plyometric push-up challenge! We are all unaware of the things we can do.. if we never do them. SHOUT OUT TO Kimmie for being so damn motivated to improve her life and others.
Landmine session just to switch things up a bit. Landmine lunges to start off. Great way to warm the body up and work on balance. I started with a set with no weight to get the coordination down and worked up from there. Be sure to keep the back straight and stay under the bar so you're not reaching forward.
Swipe to the right 🤙🏻🎂🙏🏻🍑. Let me break it down like this! There's no easy way to this. You either focus on what you want and put the work in and feel free/Motivated and Unstoppable from the HARD WORK & DEDICATION YOU DID or get the surgical work done and still feel like shit and gain the fatback! Shoutout to @jaylizbeth__ my fiancé 😍🍑she's been on the grind and doesn't stop! Mommy of 2 full time job, going to school full time Wifey and still manages to get the work done! No excuses here. Slide in my DM and let me help you reach your goals👊🏼👊🏼👊🏼🤙🏻#reeworkme#reework#personaltrainer
That feeling when you go down a pant size and STILL have some extra room 🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼 Slow progress is still progress!! Don't get discouraged if you're not seeing drastic results right away. It takes time, people! Just keep working and keep pushing! It takes time. So many people are focused on the quick fixes and don't realize those are not realistic. Nothing comes easy. You have to want it. And I mean REALLY want it. As soon as you make that realization, you will stop making excuses. Now, go look in the mirror. Are you happy with what you see? If you are, then great! If you're not, what are you going to do to change that? Happy Friday!! I hope you all have a wonderful weekend! 😘😘 Also, please excuse my dirty mirror 🤦🏻♀️🤷🏻♀️
You know what I hate about those fit chicks on here ? They never show us where they started which is obvious, they have always been somewhat fit. I was never fit b4 I started my journey. Booty was round but saggy, no muscle mass and literally couldnt do cardio for shit. I guess I grew some balls overnight to post this because I look terrible in my b4. I have decided to complete share with you guys my journey to self-motivation & happiness.
The picture on the left was 2 years ago, I was 145 lbs and completely creaky and unhappy. The one on the right I took last night after my legday workout at 149 lbs. I have muscles showing in places I never even dreamed I could have. I'm going to keep my friends and peers updated from now on.
Keep pushing forward & never stop kicking ass !
How to spot the Military Press.... Video one= Yes
Image 2= NO.
When you spot by the wrists, you prevent elbow collapse. Common objection.... "spot by the elbows, if the elbows collapse, the weight is too heavy." 🐎💩
Today I was training a client during the Military Press with 70-80% of his 1rm (meaning he could easily do 8-10 reps), but he was fatigued and the weight began to fall towards his head on the 2nd rep. I quickly redirected the weight back into proper alignment by adjusting his wrists. If my hands would've been on his elbows.... KABOOOOOM, SPLAT, he falls over into the mirror and slices his carotid artery and then he's dead! SEE WHAT HAPPENS WHEN YOU DON'T SPOT BY THE WRISTS, YOU DIE! Don't be that trainer, be an educated one like @bianca_dekker And @jcdabney42 Who are awesome students at The Academy!
Progress pictures are everything. I didn't think my back had changed that much until I took this photo on the right. 😩👌🏻 I am so happy with my progress and I know I keep saying that but man it feels good to be consistent with my training. I used to be a "yo-yo dieter" until January 2016 when I completely changed my lifestyle. I feel strong, confident, and overall AMAZING! Excited about life and what's to come. ☺️
There's no other muscle in the body, in my opinion that is more stubborn to grow than the calves. No matter how much you work them, or how often you do so, they easily fail to grow as much as you want them to.👎🏼 Much of that may just have to do with being patient and putting continued effort into them, but some may also be you're not working them effectively enough to promote growth. Here are some common myth and fact regarding exercising and growing your calves.
▪️Heavier Weight = Better Results - How many times do you see someone with bench press weight on a calf machine? Unless your calves are already the size of Jupiter, there's no need to use this much weight. 🙈The calf is a small muscle area. As such, a submaximal weight will emphasize the tension required to promote growth.
▪️Go as Fast as You Can - when in doubt don't rep it out. Yes of course you want to get as many reps as possible, but GOOD reps. There is little activation in the calf by going lightning fast so slow it down and focus on the squeeze.❌⚡️❌
▪️More is Always Better = less is more. Seriously it's better to do 10 good reps than 20 bad ones. Calves are one of the most susceptible muscles to slow deliberate tension in order to grow, so don't put as much thought into how many reps and focus on getting a good contraction on each one instead.
▪️The Calf is Only One Muscle = The calves are just a name encompassing a muscle area as a whole. There are actually almost a dozen different muscles in the calves, some less prominent than others. For most, you want to focus on two, the Gastrocnemius and the Soleus. These are the two major muscles, and will be the two that will be activated the most and yield the most visible and physical results.
Don't get caught slipping up with your calves. 😮💦 If you want to grow those stubborn boys, use these tips to better understand how to maximize your results!

"Never say you 'don't have time', we all have the same 24hrs in a day, and some of us just want it more than others. Some of us are willing to sacrifice more than others. Some of us care more than others. As time carries on you notice your "loser friends" don't have the same goals, visions, aspirations and interest as you. And that's ok, because not everyone is meant to be a Queen or King" -JC, Klass CEO @jcsportsmed

It's the simple things: like being able to make your own breakfast and going to the gym! I recently moved to Miami, and I was here for hurricane Irma. I'm a mainer so I'm used to blizzards and nor easters but I wasn't really sure what to expect with a hurricane. We spent days lining up for necessities such as water, propane, canned food, and gas. We lost power for 7 days, which in no joke in this Florida heat. We were unable to make all of our meals at home, forcing us to eat out at the select few fast food restaurants that were open. Old me would've loved eating out every meal for a whole week, but the new me hated it. I was feeling super bloated and sluggish. My gym was closed until 2 days ago, due to the aftermath of Irma, making it even more difficult to get back to normal. But here I am today, made my own healthy breakfast and getting ready to hit the gym! You have to make the best of every situation and appreciate what you've got, especially the simple things. -
Hit an early 7am back workout and I've never been an early lifter but these past few days I've gone early I'm really starting to like how I get the whole day free to focus on classes, studying etc plus it's a great natural nootropic and the gym is empty so workouts are much better without waiting or having my routine messed up!
