New deadlift pr. Moved relativity easy considering i spent most of the morning vomiting and I'm in a cut phase right now. 515 no problem and grip was no issue at all. #Mermaid @msmorgannichole cheering me on. My deadlift birthday party in a month with @msmorgannichole and @karamel_redbone i should be 195lbs and hitting a new pr. Next year i will dedicate more time to working out during the day and the week so i can really improve.

Call it a comeback but the knee felt great with 30 minutes of shootaround first the first time in months. . AT HOME leg dayzzz. Combined leg day as a whole today, but going to do a more glute focused one this weekend! Yallllll I got this bar for $20 at a garage sale a while ago and literally was the best twenty bucks Iโ€™ve ever spent (even tho Iโ€™m just now getting around to using it because Iโ€™m usually at the actual gym ๐Ÿคฃ) Having this 45lb bar makes it so much easier to get good weighted leg days in at home! Usually if I were to do a leg sesh at home it would be more plyometric based, but I am LOVING being able to get a lightweight leg day in at home when I canโ€™t make it to the gym or just want a change in scenery! Hereโ€™s the 5 exercises I did this morning: regular squats with double resistance bands, glute bridges and hold with hip abduction, also double banded and with a 10lb dumbell, step ups with lunge combo, straight leg deadlifts and curtesy lunges! Feeling super accomplished with this lightweight leg day that I did at home! Getting this barbell=happy KP ๐Ÿ˜‹

I see a lot of people post videos doing jump squats incorrectly on Instagram, so hereโ€™s a post showing the correct and incorrect ways. Yes, jump squats are predominantly a lower body exercise, BUT your arm movement is still important. Your momentum is going upward, hence your arms should go the same way. When you throw your arms back, your momentum therefore decreases. 
Other keys:
โ–ช๏ธfeet shoulder-width apart and toes facing forward
โ–ช๏ธland with bent knees and fluidly back into a squat position, so knees should not go past toes

You will get stronger at it and it will help your triceps and deltoid get strong enough to handle the extra weight that you could not reach before! Iโ€™ve buckled down on my workouts. Iโ€™ve mixed heavy weights with low reps, low-med weights with high reps, traditional cardio and plyometric training (Iโ€™m cutting up). My fat percentage has definitely gone down-i can tell by my clothes- and i overall fell as good as I ever did in my 30s compared to my 20s. ๐Ÿคฆ๐Ÿพโ€โ™‚๏ธ

Over the last 4 years Iโ€™ve put on a about 35 pounds.

It happened slowly at first, kinda like watching the grass grow... a pound here, a pound there, not noticing it too much at first until finally I looked in the mirror and said, โ€œWhat the fuck happened to me?!โ€

Over the last 4 years I have yo-yoed up and down.

I literally teach people about nutrition and training for a living, yet battle my weight everyday.

I could blame genetics, Iโ€™ve battled my weight my entire life, but the truth is, my weight gain is 100% due to lack of discipline in this area of my life.

Iโ€™ve made countless excuses to my self.

Iโ€™ve lied to myself and said, โ€œI donโ€™t look that bad.โ€

Iโ€™ve hid behind my physical strength.

Iโ€™ve hid in the fact that I still train consistently.

Yes I still train damn near daily, but the intensity has not been the same.

People are always asking me about my pace when I run. It's very simple I just aim to have 3 miles completed in 25 mins. That last 5 mins is faster somedays than others but Depending on how my knee feels...I  at least want 3.50 miles completed in 30 mins. 
Strength focus was back today. 
3 sets of 10 pull-ups 
5 sets of cable rows 20 reps

I actually cooled it on squats for a long time because my knee would make a funny clicking sound. But then a PT told me itโ€™s fine as long as nothing hurts! So Iโ€™m easing back into the squat game. Luckily my new adjustable dumbbell came in (get yourself one) so I can start packing on more weight.

Iโ€™m a big proponent of FORM FIRST then weight. Iโ€™m fine with not lifting as much of it means I wonโ€™t have to take a few weeks off due to injury. So Iโ€™m keeping video logs and having my husband spot check my form to make sure Iโ€™m getting stronger SAFELY (trust me, as someone whoโ€™s had injuries, itโ€™s worth the slower pace!)

Iโ€™m fine with not lifting as much of it means I wonโ€™t have to take a few weeks off due to injury. #Planks are, in my opinion, one of the best core strengthening exercises and an imperative exercise to master. When I assess a new client, I almost always have them perform a plank so I can identify core strength and stability.

Planks are one of my favorite exercises because there are SO MANY variations you can do, because, let's face it, once you've mastered the plank, it can become a little boring. Here I have two different variations to kick your planks up a notch.
๐Ÿ”ฅ๐Ÿ”ฅ๐Ÿ”ฅ
Plank Tapouts w/ band: This is a great variation to challenge both your core and glutes. Place a resistance band just below your knees and assume plank position. Engage your core and tighten your glutes, tap one foot out to the side and alternate. You can of course regress this exercise by removing the band.
๐Ÿ”ฅ๐Ÿ”ฅ๐Ÿ”ฅ
Plank w/ Shoulder Reach: This is what's known as an anti-rotational exercise. The goal is to reach out with one arm while maintaining a neutral spine and not allowing the hips to rotate as you reach. Take this one slow so you can assure that your pelvis stays parallel with the floor.
