You know you had too much fun in LKF when your last early morning stop before bed is at Tsui Wah, a 24 hour branch of this famous Hong Kong café chain at the bottom of the famous party hill. My go to order – a classic Hong Kong-style cafe dish, satay beef noodles, simply instant noodles with satay beef, not a fancy dish but so satisfying when you have the munchies! * *

Oden on a snowy Friday. #jingyrecipe -
1. Dashi - 20g kombu with 8 cups of water, bring to simmer but never let it boil. Pick out kombu and add 30g bonito flakes to boil and simmer 5 min.
2. Base - strain the soup and add 4 tbsp mirin, 2 tbsp light soy sauce, 1 tbsp sugar, and some salt. Put in daikon and simmer for 45 min.
3. Treasury bag - dice shrimps and mushroom to make the filling. Put into the fried tofu skin pocket and seal by green onion or toothpick.
4. Add treasure bag, fish cake and etc to the pot and simmer for 15 more min.
