Sunrise over Namche Bazaar. This town, high up at 3,440m (11,290ft) is the Sherpa capital of the Himalaya.
During the climbing season, the transformation of this village is astonishing. We caught the beginning of this on our way back down, but traditionally in late March and April, when the Everest expeditions begin flocking in, the town is more akin to a bustling market town than a remote hilltop village.
This is also a place notorious for weather change. We saw it on our way back. When we returned to Namche, around midday, it was an astouding 27 degrees celsius (80F). When the clouds rolled in from the valley to the right, we were immersed in a whiteout and the temperature dropped to 2 degrees celsius (35F) in just thirty minutes. ....

Guess who came to welcome at Namche 🐈
On my last day in Nepal, I am still trying to figure out how to describe this experience to my friends and family. I really don't think there is a proper way to detail the beauty of the Himalayas. It is just something you have to see for yourself. #himalayasnepal #everest #kalapatar #dingboche #lobuche #namchebazar
Build a bridge and get over it. Sometimes the grass is greener ✌️
This will remain my favorite photo for a long time. Taken at #namchebazar in march by the talented @altimagesphotography. Thanks for entire bust of photos that includes this. In fact, I should get myself that Canon camera and the #solar charger for my next major adventure for even better shots. Well done.👏👍
