Day 11: Ricky woke up at 5am to catch the sunrise at Kalapathar, climbing up to 5,643m. Although I was tired enough from the previous day so waited patiently by the fire with tea. Then we stated our 7 hour day descending from Gorak Shep to Pangboche for the night. This photo on the way down is very typical, the singing bells of yaks passing means you need to stand in the inside of the mountain as not to be pushed off... but not today! Today I was living life on the edge! #nepaltravel#everestbasecamp2017#nepal#mteverest#yaks
Day 4 : Acclimatization day. We stayed in Namche Bazar (3440m) for 2 nights to get adapted with the altitude. We had a planned to go to Khumjung, another village up the hill. But On our way to, we took a different path and ended up to Everest Lookout. Turned up much better than we expected. We could see all of the mountains that we were going to walk through for the trek. Mt. Thamserku, Mt. Ama Dablam, Holy Mt. Tobuche, Nuptse, Lotse and of course Mt. Everest.
And we met a new friend as well. His name is “Blacky” we named it because He is fully black, he accompanied us until we back to namche
A dream doesn't become reality through magic, it takes sweat, determination and hard work. The past 2 weeks have been challenging both mentally and physically. We finally reached "Everest Base Camp" at over 5,000m and looked up at the khumbu Icefall where countless people have lost their lives attempting the summit. As tired as everyone was from the last 12 days of early mornings and walking up to 6 hours a day across rocky terrain, the joy and relief over everyone who made it here was undeniable. We could hardly breathe and our heads were throbbing but... we had made it. #everestbasecamp2017#nepaltravel#nepal#madeit#mteverest
EBC Day 3: Namche Bazaar to Tengboche. Started hiking at 8am and it was a pretty easy hike at the beginning going around the mountains enjoying the view. Towards the second half was the descending and ascending to Tengboche. Reached Tengboche and there is a breathtaking view of a monestary with the view of the mountains in the background. (Look out for the picture of a dog posing at the roof top!). Saw Ama Dablam for the first time.. Stunning! Stayed at the Hotel Himalayan, pretty decently price. The shower is is getting to be luxury here at this point. The charge for hot shower is more than the charge for the room. Good hike so far. KO Level = 10% for this hike. #everestbasecamp#nature#naturephotography#namchebazar ##tengboche#nepal
From all the blog posts I’ve read beforehand, I knew this Himalayan village was going to pretty big — but I had no idea just how vertical it was built up. Arriving at its gate was one of the most memorable moments of the trek.

EBC Day 2: Phakding to Namche Bazaar. About 7.4km distance with elevation change of 830m, ending at 3440m. The hike took little longer than expected as we finished at about 3:30pm. The last part of the hiking was tough as we were exhausted, out of energy and it was mainly going up hill.. but we did it! 😊 #phakding#namchebazar#hiking#nature#naturephotography#everestbasecamp#nepal
