The streets of this regional city in @visitnsw are currently bathed in vibrant hues of purple as jacaranda season is in full bloom. @daxon overlooking Sydney. What a day that was. We watched the sunrise in the Blue Mountains, then sunset in Sydney and to our surprise the moonrise too together with @robmulally. Such a good day of our road trip! Watch the behind the scenes on our YouTube channel. Link is in the profile description! 😄

‘Jet lag’ es una broma comparado con la sensación vivida al llegar (además de algo de lluvia), pero da igual, ya pisamos arena australiana y empezamos a respirar the Byron Bubble 🌊🏄🏽‍♂️✌️

Although the majority of our operations are carried out inside the Oberon CBD, being one of the major firefighting agencies in New South Wales means we can be used as a resource anywhere in Australia at anytime if the need arises.
In this particular occasion Oberon Fire and Rescue was asked to submit numbers for a strike team to head towards the Blue Mountains due to multiple lightning strikes over night.

Such a great story of compassion and kindness to a complete stranger 🤗🙏 #Repost @actionsofcompassion (@get_repost) ・・・
"So, I'm headed home on the CTA Redline and there's a homeless man sitting across from me. He's older, weathered, minding his own business. His feet are so swollen he's wearing the tattered gym shoes he has with the back folded down; like slip-ons. I don't know how many pairs of socks he's wearing in an attempt to keep his feet warm but there is blood seeping through.

There's another man on the other side of the doors; younger, carrying a satchel and a suitcase, also minding his own business. He's wearing a pair of big black snow boots. They look new; they look expensive; they're built for a Chicago winter.

Quietly, in a blink and you'll miss it fashion, the younger man takes off the boots he's wearing and passes them to the old man. He opens his suitcase and gives him a pair of socks as well.

The young man puts on a spare pair of shoes from the suitcase. These shoes are nice too, but not as nice as the boots. They would have fit the old man just as well, but they were not what this old man needed.

He tells the old man to try and clean his feet and to make sure he changes into the new socks as soon as he can and then the young man gets off at 87th.

Those of us who are close enough to see and hear the exchange are floored.
The shoes off his feet.
I love that in a time and place where hate and apathy are rampant, quiet compassion appears without warning.

I pray that we all are compelled to do similar.
I pray that we all allow empathy to invoke action.
I pray that we never forget that we have always had the power to be a blessing.

I'm inspired to continue to try to ‘be the change’ and I pray you are too.” #LoveWhatMatters repost via @instarepost20 from @lovewhatmatters

Another picture I took at Lincoln’s Rock, a high cliff rock tourist spot which is the final leg of our Blue Mountains day tour. Since I have fear of heights, I really could not go near the edge lest I get dizzy, my legs go limp, and I might just roll over till I fall. I just took snapshots right behind tourists like this lady who’s brave enough to sit steadily.
I’m such a wimp, lols.

In limestone caves, after the natural process of erosion and excavation, a simple but slow natural process is responsible for the decoration of the bare, dull walls. Falling rain picks up atmospheric carbon dioxide. On passing through the soil, more carbon dioxide, from plant roots and decaying vegetable matter, becomes dissolved in the water, along with complex organic acids called humic acids. This ground water easily disolves limestone. The solution slowly descends into the cave and deposits the dissolved calcium carbonate, sometimes including impurities of iron and other minerals. On reaching the cave, the water droplets fall to the floor, leaving behind a tiny deposit of calcite crystal. This is known as precipitation. #caves #jenolan #lucascave #crystal #formation #lowlightphotography #blackisbeautiful #sydney #strya #newsouthwales #cannonaustralia #visitsydney #lifeisbeautiful

The fragility of life is a fickle thing and I think that when I am gifted with this opportunity to spend the last few minutes with a creature that is not long for this earth, I feel it is my duty to stay, pay homage and show respect to the life that is passing before my very eyes. I stayed with the New Zealand Fur Seal for a few hours on Sunday and returned to Merewether Beach that same evening after having driven back to Raymond Terrace to buy a fish that I had bought from the local Woolworths.
I arrived on the beach and located the seal in the dark with the glow of the near by surf club and the lights of the breaking waves.
I unwrapped the only fish for sale at Woolworths at the time, which happened to be a rainbow trout.
I threw the rainbow trout towards the hissing waves, the in coming tide, the dead of night and the fur seal.
The fur seal lifted its head and it was then that I realised that I had thrown the fish to the fur seals bottom instead of its head.
My efforts seemed so futile and I felt so stupid, but as I stayed there with the seal I consoled myself with the notion that I may have been the last living creature that this fur seal
had looked upon and somewhere in my vain efforts to help this creature, it somehow appreciated my efforts or was perhaps even amused by them.
God bless my furry friend and may you get to where your restless spirit yearns to be.

#bluedoorcafe #merewether #marinelife #marinepark #oceans #sadday #newzealand #furseal #newsouthwales #australia  The fragility of life is a fickle thing and I think that when I am gifted with this opportunity to spend the last few minutes with a creature that is not long for this earth, I feel it is my duty to stay, pay homage and show respect to the life that is passing before my very eyes. First stop Byron Bay. Clouds didn't let the views down too much...

Before going to this place I did a research on how ethical is to ride a camel? 🐪 At the beginning I was very skeptical about it. I don’t support animal trekking industries and I’m against all those elephant trekking, swimming with dolphins, hugs with lions etc 🙅🏻‍♀️But surprisingly I haven’t found anything saying that riding a camel is harmful to the animal 🤔Anyway, even though it was tempting we didn’t go for a ride. We went sandboarding, hiking and swimming in the ocean instead 🌊 Everything was great so I’m here just to remind you, there is always an alternative to activities where animals are not involved! 🙂

So I bought a new toy, but don't want to drone on and on about it... First proper go at shooting with it.

A typical neighbourhood in the city. Well, not so typical, as this is the hip and trendy neighbourhood of Surry Hills. I was looking up cafes that have a viable setting to do work from and found Kawa, which is on the main street of Surry Hills. Perfect for me since I had wanted to check out this neighbourhood. It is definitely a nice neighbourhood with very trendy and quaint cafes to drum your fingers on the laptop, lay your eyes on a book, or just simply feast on what’s on the menu. There is also a type in this part of the city, but it’s hard for me to explain without sounding politically incorrect. I enjoyed my hours spent there and it was nice to walk through it. It’s just a 15 minute stroll from Museum Station, but it gives a feel like you’re away from the bustle of the city.

It’s dry and dusty at the moment in New South Wales! The dust can be seen for kilometers around
