“Great people do things before they’re ready. They do things before they know they can do it. Doing what you’re afraid of, getting out of your comfort zone, taking risks like that - that is what life is. You might be really good, you might find out something about yourself that’s really special. And if you’re not good, who cares? You tried something. Now, you know something about yourself.” -Amy Poehler
It's was so timely that I bumped into this by @flow_magazine. Thankful for inspiring things that pops in my feed reminding me that everything will be okay especially when things do not happen as planned. Hope this one will uplift you too!
Have a lovely week ahead!
To not get you overwhelmed what to scrapbook about, here's 1 tip we would like to share with you tonight. This one's from my good old Memory Keeping magazine. Hoping you'll find this tip helpful.
Have a lovely evening!
Best advice I can give to people who feel burnout: log off, go to a quiet place and read. And have something to munch on 😂 Quite funny that I found this Art Marketing book amidst the sea of books in Baguio! Having quiet time and being with nature definitely helped me refresh my mind. Not just on career but also with life in general. How about you? What do you do when you feel stuck? 🤔
Whoever said that OPM is dead clearly didn’t know where to look. The Philippine indie scene is more alive than ever, and I believe that people just need to know how or where to find this rare breed of artists. So here’s something to get you started on that. Visit daysinwonderland.com and get a copy of this free ebook by @izzmatias. I believe it’s only free for a limited time so if I were you I’d get that copy right now.🤘🏼
I'm honestly still learning about it but it was relatively easy for me to adapt to a conscious consumer lifestyle because of @rags2richesinc. ✨ Hehehe! Being part of the team (as my first job!) and working with the artisans who put so much love to every single woven panel (like the blue clutch on the picture) taught me so much about sustainability and being smart about shopping in general. Hehe
For me then though, sometimes it felt like we we're on our own bubble (like we're the only ones who were doing it) and don't know how else to encourage more people to learn about it BUT now that they've officially launched @thingsthatmatterph, it makes it easier now to nudge more friends about it hehehehe soooo happy that more people can start learning how to live a mindful lifestyle through simple choices.
Missing out on the official media launch of @thingsthatmatterph but you can check out their newly launched website! There's finally a go-to site for products that encourage a conscious lifestyle!!! :) (Personally eye-ing the Sip steel straws 😳😳😳)
If we haven't mentioned it before, our journals and scrapbooks are covered with locally handmade paper. We use different mediums to customize them. For this one, we used watercolor and ink. Also, our client chose a name of the person who's going to receive this as a present.
If you'd love to give handmade journals as presents this holiday, don't hesitate to DM us!
#Throwback to the first #YOUniverse event where @aninarubio, @kimilulifecoach, and I were soaking up tons good vibes! Super stoked to have #YOUniverse2 this Saturday at @localedition, Perea! This time, @wordofmouthorg will join us for Revelation night! 😉 Swipe 👈🏻 to see the festivities! 👉🏻
Can’t wait to share love, light and good vibes with you again! 💖 Tag someone you’ll want to take selfies with during the event! 😉
Throwback to one of my student meetups last August! Doing another one for my VIP class this Sunday, and I'm sooooo excited - it's not just a meetup, it's going to be a #designthinking workshop, too! Because I mean, come on -- why not, right?!? Two people are flying in to Manila just for it (bongga), and so we gotta make the most out of it 😋
On another note, I've been pulling out all the stops & doing a lot of in-person activities this year, making the most out of me still being in Manila. #sinusulit 😋 And so far, this year has been hella fun!!!!! I've met so many new friends that I would never have met had I stuck to my own comfortable bubble. Plus, I love that the more time we spend together in class, the more we get to know each other - and can jump from talking about lessons, to life, to *ehem ehem* chika.
And you know what? More and more, *that's* what I'm realizing, really: that the main offering of @thepurporsefulcreative is NOT just workshops. It's community. Just the way I like it 💖💖💖 #thepurposefulcreative#PDBchallenge
Been working on this Japan shoot set for days now and it’s something I cant wait to finish so I can share with you all!! ✨✨✨ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
People have been asking me about this :) But, do you feel that too? when it’s something you are soooo ecstatic about, you just wait for the best timing for it? :) Or is it just me? Ahhhh, these two in kimonos and all the eat outs we’ve had will soon be out ;) #thoughtsandfeelingsoffcam
Sneak peek into a typical life of a do it all creative 😂 Sometimes you’re left with no choice but to cut stickers or tags while on transit and pray that the car doesn’t stop abruptly or else you’ll end up with a bloody mess instead of a creative one 😂 I definitely have a love-hate relationship with Holiday preps! 😂 Cheers to everyone who flows with the hustle!! 🤩
Don’t forget to checkout @commonroomph for the #CommonRoomAndCo preps!! 😍
It's officially 33 days before Christmas and we're feeling a bit of Christmasy already. We're hoping to put these paper snowflake ornament to good use this holiday season. It's one messy table, just like always, when we work especially with the journals. But out of this mess comes beautiful creations which we hope could inspire anyone.
I like writing songs or practicing in the dark. It’s not as creepy as it sounds hahahaha It’s just that sometimes it helps me focus on my thoughts or notice stuff I normally wouldn’t. I guess it makes a lot of things more...dramatic? And that definitely helps when you’re working on something that’s driven by emotions. Mom would always tease me that I don’t get enough sun 😂 Baka daw malusaw na ako pag lumabas ako. Diba dapat pinapagalitan pag nagpapa-araw? Or iba na ba? 🤷🏼♀️
Working on new modules & worksheets for our 2018 classes! If you're subscribed to our newsletter, I sent out the 2018 learning calendar last Thursday - where I outlined the dates of enrollment for 2 of our signature courses (one on goal-setting/project management, and the other on branding).
One of my favorite things to do is design the questions & the flow of the worksheets, since it's something I've been doing for myself since I was a lot younger (haha) - because, I don't know, I found that it somehow makes my jumbled thought process waaay more structured. Apparently, that structure in the midst of overthinking is something a lot of people like, too -- so now workbooks have become a staple in our school. Hope you're as excited as I am for the new and improved 2018 workbook!!!!!
PS. Am I the only one slightly (?) panicking because it's almost end of the year??? 😂 #PDBchallenge#thepurposefulcreative
PPS. The worksheet above is from my workshop in Morocco!
Hello from the other siiiiide. Get it? get it? This is filed under: supplier fail 😂
On a another note, i’ve been caffeine free for more than a month! Wow! Looking back, it’s quite funny that I depended on a liquid for illusions of productivity 😂 Happy morning, everyboddddyyy!!! 🤩
When a photographer gets to be in front of the camera with loved ones.... ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
One big realization: Guys, PICTURES ARE SOOOO IMPORTANT, okay? Hahahaha :) #thisisnotapaidad#notsponsored LOL ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Geeez, woke up this morning to a beautiful set of portraits of me and my mom by none other than my awesome photographer friend, @gjesguerra / @gjesguerraphotography 🌿 ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Now, I kind of get to have a share of how my clients feel, ang saya pala!!! 💃🏻 haha
November's almost over...... ?! Realized it during our weekly scrum meeting this afternoon........ *CRUNCH TIME* 🙃
So much has happened in our tiny community at @thepurposefulcreative that it feels like this year went by too fast. BUT I can say this now, even though it's not yet done, 2017 really was our bravest year (and for our students too who all make us proud.) 💖
@arrianeserafico and I are gearing up for the exciting things for the school in 2018 - we sent out a preview of our Learning Calendar and the responses only made us more excited on how to make it better! 😳💖 Tag a friend you'd want to achieve goals with (and follow @thepurposefulcreative for updates!!!)
Last week, these custom-made journals flew to Abu Dhabi. These will be meant as Christmas presents for 3 lovely ladies who served as family away from home for our client who works in a health services company in UAE.
When you are working away from home, especially in another country, you find and build friendships who become family to you and for some they are your very own kababayan.
Thank you @amiemab for choosing us to make these presents for you. We hope you all have a merry Christmas!
People dear to us deserve special presents, and one way to show that is to give them handmade products! Tag someone you know who might be looking for custom handmade journals to give for the holidays!
Tag a friend with a generous heart and a love for music and art. #RhymeUnintended hahaha
#Sharendipity Benefit Gig is happening this Nov 29! Follow @sharemovement and register with the link in their bio. 💙 Nothing better than having a chance to use art for a good cause.
When I started journaling back in grade school, I only knew of just writing my thoughts out and starting my entry with "Dear Diary...". When I stepped into highschool and made my very first journal out of black cartolina, my entries evolved to songs, poetry and doodles with stickers and all.
So, which kind are you? The doodle type or the scribble type?
Let us know in the comments! Happy Monday!
Kinda lucky that I get to work anywhere as long as there's internet but sometimes staying in and 'working from home' gets me nowhere - I do everything except my actual work..... 😳🤷 S-T-R-U-G-G-L-E but thank god I can work at Solution Space and actually be productive there. Hehe!
This one's for their own bosses: What's your productivity hack? Where do you prefer working?
New week!!! Happy Monday!!!
Been learning and relearning different things lately. I’ve been stalking @bemzenit and @calligrafikas for loose watercolor florals 😍
When pursuing something new, do you resort to self-study or enrolling in classes or workshops? Share your thoughts with me! 😊
Does anyone here still buy physical copies of albums? I do (or at least I wait to receive them as presents hahahaha). I also still keep a typewriter at home. And I love sending and receiving handwritten letters and postcards. How about you? Are you Team Old School or Team Techie? Or maybe a bit of both?
"What is my purpose?"
It started with me wanting to just share reviews to opening more about myself. I'm putting my heart on my sleeves. What started out as an outlet for me is now a venue for me to try and inspire others.
I don't want to be just another food / travel blogger, I want to be able to communicate on a deeper level. That's why I share my stories and advice to my readers. It's not going to change the world drastically but even if I was able to make one soul out there feel better, that would still be a difference nevertheless.
More about this personal entry on blog. Link is on bio. 👩💻 #TasteForExcitement
The past few days has been brutal - working under the sun for hours, having sun burn in your eyes (yes, it’s possible!), working til midnight then travelling back home to work early again the next day. Then having colds and flu as your take home 😂 BUT No complaints at all! Looking back, what started as a simple way to get rid of work related stress became my main work! As I paint and edit the letters in this photo, may you edit your life frequently and as ruthlessly as possible, it is YOUR masterpiece after all! Enjoy your journey, my loves!
Back in 2012, I took a scary leap & opened up the very 1st "legit" workshop that was entirely my own. I paid for my own venue, bought food, made my own materials - and this was back in the time when independent creative workshops weren't a thing yet! (Places like Ayala Museum or CCP had a greater monopoly on workshops then!) I didn't know how to market it, I was so scared of charging anywhere above PHP 1500 ($30) for a -- get this!! -- a full-on 3-day workshop, because I was so insecure about my work and thought to myself, "Who the heck am I to even do this *and* charge for it?!" 😂🤷
Teaching will always be one of my Big Loves, and I'm so grateful to still be doing it now, and for continuing to meet so many amazing, talented, driven, passionate, kind, and generous students. Blogworthy was 5 years ago (INSAAAANE! Time flies!), and I continue to be friends with and have collaborated with many of my students over the years! Oh how we've all grown, you guys. ❤️ So rewarding to see our learning community grow & evolve over the years: the How's may change (and our website & look & hairstyles!), but the Why? The Why remains true. #PDBchallenge
This is one of our recent wins - a recently shipped custom-made guestbook for our soon-to-be married client in a handmade kraft box. :) Way way back, we are used to doing meet-ups with our handmade goods only placed in resealable pouches. Now, we are happy to say that our creations are reaching other places other than those just within our circle of friends of friends. And yes, our custom goodies are now placed in a box.
So SOON... for our soon to be happily wed client. And SOON for us, many more boxed goodies reaching out to different places and different people who love handcrafted journals.
We would admit, we are still a work in progress. But we have been planning a lot o things and really really hope to share them with you soon.
P.S. So, what's in the box? A custom-made wedding guestbook hard-covered with locally handmade paper.
My family loves to hang out at Eastwood and whenever we’d pass by an event there, I’d always imagine being on that stage. Yesterday, that imagination turned into a dream-like reality. I had the honor of performing for @vegfestpilipinas at Eastwood Central Plaza. I was nervous to death, but before I got on stage I took a glance at my family and friends who came to support me, and that instantly gave me the strength I needed to be my best on that stage. And everything else came naturally. In that moment, a sudden realization hit me - I’ve made the right choice, fighting for this dream. Not because I’ve started to truly believe in myself, but because I’m surrounded by people who believe in me. I guess what I’m trying to say is, to anyone who’s ever listened to my songs, watched my gigs, helped me get gigs, shared my videos, or just supported me in any way - THANK YOU. 💙 I’d hug all of you if I could. 🤗
PS. Wrote this right after my gig kaya napahaba 😂 lumalabas talaga lahat ng drama after a moment like this hahahahaha
This recently appeared in my Facebook’s “On This Day” - my 2nd wedding ever almost 2 years ago - when all I had was sheer hope to get me through the day. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Realtalk: Looking at where I am now, I honestly think that progress could still be slow or not how I expected it to be but every shoot is something I look forward to now, more confident, with a vision/decision of how I want to spend the day and win it - not only for me but for the people I work with and especially my awesome couples!!! ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
To be trusted is overwhelming, isn’t it? But it’s one of the most beautiful things we’re lucky to have :) *smiling and kilig as I type this*
Finally done with Kina’s first birthday party headband. Took me a week to figure out what color of #tulle to use and what to pair with it. Used old buttons as an accent and grossgrain for the bow. Do you think I made the right combination of materials? #creativemomatwork
COMMON INTERIOR DESIGN MISTAKES- CURTAINS
One of the most common mistakes I see is the way curtains are hung either too low, too narrow or too short. The first photo is the proper way of hanging curtains. The second one is too narrow. To determine correct width, add 6-10" for each side of the window. Also, to get the illusion of taller windows, hang the curtain rod 1/2-2/3 the height from the top of the window to the ceiling. The last photo shows curtains that are too short. Depending on what effect you like, curtain length should : 1) be less than an inch from the floor; 2) kiss the floor; 3) form a break - add 1 inch length ; or, 4) puddle to the floor - add 6-8" length.
📸Rugs USA, The Frugal Gal, Remodelando la Casa
The last time I visited Los Angeles, I made sure to visit @amoebahollywood. It's a haven for music lovers because of its diverse selection of music. And my gosh, the size of the place! It'll make you shiver with excitement. Imagine all the great music finds. I wrote a blog post about this lovely place and the amazing things you will find inside. Give it a read on daysinwonderland.com. :) #mymusicadventure
Do you like to travel? I love it! I love going to a different place, soak it up, discover new things, hear new stories from different people, watch different scenarios, and learn new cultures. Where do you usually go when you travel? Do you travel with your family, your friends, or by yourself?
Whenever I write, I feel like I'm traveling to another world, with another set of eyes, gain another set of experiences, and think another set of thoughts. What do you feel when you write? Do you feel like you're transported to another world when you write? .
Share your story! I'd love to know where you end up going when you write 😊
There was a time when we had to face challenges with a toddler disliking bath time. Sharing with you two products I love, that not only make bath time fun, but it also a special bonding activity with my little one. Note that this is not a paid advertisment. Haha.
Crayola Bath Drops - Unfortunately, this isn't available locally. 😕I usually order this from Amazon. Not only does it make bath time more fun and interesting, it also taught my son at an early age about mixing colors (i.e. blue + red = purple) 🖍
Bubble Bath - So far I have only tried Mustela and Mothercare bubble bath for my little one. Unlike the bath drops, which can be used any day, bubble baths are reserved for weekends when mommy gives him a bath. This makes bath time more special 😍💦 Make bath time special this looong weekend/holiday 🛀

This is a story of a teenager who was a consistent honor student since his grade school years. There were two years he had a difficult time and didn't have any awards but eventually he was able to get his groove back. He's now a brown belt too in aikido but stopped his classes last summer. I believe in listening to your child's needs and allowing them to pursue their wants as long as it is beneficial for them. I suppose our love for art has influenced him in some way and he asked to have a watercolor print of Casa Batllo from our last trip to Barcelona. He added the cap himself when we were fixing his room earlier. This is a short chronicle of my son's life as displayed in this shelf. I'm thinking of developing wall shelves for sale for all of you soon. I think there is a dire lack of wall shelves locally. This is the first for #theshelfchronicles . Let me know if you think it's a good idea in the comments below.
#diymom moment: made 2 new headbands for Kina. The polka dot flower was originally built as a clip. Had to remove the clip, add felt cut-out and stick the elastic. For the white polka dot I used grossgrain and elastic band. Any tips on how to level up these headbands for Kina? #creativemomatwork
When we were choosing a name for the benefit gig, ‘Sharendipity’ was one of the punniest (funniest, see what we did there?) ideas that we jokingly added to a list. But Nate came across an article that inspired us to go forward with ‘Sharendipity’. ___________________________________________________________________
“Serendipity is not when God does it for you. Serendipity is when God allows your efforts to be infinitely more productive than they could have without Him. You do the hard work - God allows the right person to notice. If you do your part and you believe that God will do His, serendipity will happen.” - Gower Talley
@natepunzalan6 and I believe that #Sharendipity is more than our efforts! It is God working in all of us who unite to do something wonderful in this world. It is God working beyond what we can give and offer. We believe that God is waiting for us to be willing to share whatever we have and let Him bless what we’ve shared. 🙏🏻

A lesson in scrapbooking: Instead of working on your whole scrapbook in just a day, why not do it a page a day as to not overwhelm yourself. Also, pays when you plan ahead and create a theme before starting.
If you haven't known, we also create custom blank scrapbooks aside from journals. DM us now! The holidays are fast approaching!
“A workshop on spreading good vibes, peace, love and light.” 🌟
Now, that’s something i’d definitely enroll in! But hey! We’re trying our best to have a day of good energies as we gear up for another #YOUniverse event on November 25 at @localedition 💚 That’s a day after I bid goodbye to my #Transposition display. We’ll be announcing more activities soon so stay tuned and see you there, yes? 🌟
