#LESSONS FROM GEESE
In the fall, when you see #Geese heading south for the winter, flying along in a "V" formation, you might be interested in knowing what #science has discovered about why they fly that way.
It's been learned that as each bird flaps its wings, it creates uplift for the bird immediately following. By flying in "V" formation, the whole flock adds 71% greater #flying range than if each bird flew on its own. (Quite similar to people who are part of a team and share a common direction get where they are going quicker and easier because they are traveling on the trust of one another, and #LiftEachOther up along the way.) Whenever a Goose falls out of formation, it suddenly feels the drag and resistance of trying to go through it alone, and quickly gets back into formation to take advantage of the power of the flock. (If we have as much sense as a Goose, we will stay in formation and share #information with those who are headed the same way.) When the lead Goose gets tired, he or she rotates back in the wings and another Goose takes over. (It pays to share #leadership and take turns doing hard jobs.) The Geese honk from behind to encourage those up front to keep their speed. (Words of #support and #inspiration help energize those on the front line, helping them to keep pace in spite of the day-to-day pressures and fatigue. It's important that our honking be encouraging. Otherwise, it's just... HONKING!) Finally, when a Goose gets sick, or is wounded, and falls out, two Geese fall out of formation and follow the injured one down to help and protect him/her. They stay with until the injured goose is able to fly, or dies, then they launch out with another formation to catch up with their flock. (When one of us is down, it's up to the others to stand by us in our time of trouble.) If we have the sense of a Goose, we'll stand by each other when things get rough. We will stay in formation with those headed where we want to go.
The next time you see a formation of Geese, remember their message: "IT IS INDEED A #REWARD , A #CHALLENGE , AND A #PRIVILEGE TO BE A CONTRIBUTING MEMBER OF A #TEAM !" (repost from D. Touchberry)
Only yesterday did I actually realize the privilege I have living in one of the most liberal places in the world. In the release of a hilarious, short webseries teaser about an alien was a casually placed lesbian couple who are barely romantic and aren't talked about because it shouldn't matter who the lead character is dating when an alien is trying to destroy Earth, right? 50% of the comments had to do with "nasty lesbians" and the use of Christianity to justify CHILDREN's opinions that it wasn't right. It made my heart very sad that the next generation, kids between the ages of 5 and 12 are that vicious and still that intolerant towards others. I honestly say I was naive to how bad this issue truly is, because I am lucky enough to live in a state and a city where being yourself is respected and flaunted and loved.
It reminded me why I'm here in this city and why art is so important to the impact of the world.
Even when that art consists of an alien shooting up the entire US military.
Stay loving and stay controversial.
Please help me welcome the newest member of the Levine Family Fitness Team Stress Less, Rebecca Wrotny! One of the biggest privileges I have as a coach is getting to share this opportunity with others and help them in whatever ways I'm capable of to achieve their goals! Anyone wants to watch this with me?!? No... ok!
When I get an email that reads as following, “You have an opportunity to view the advanced screening of this movie! It is available to watch online and open to the first 2,500 Liberty University Students who sign up, so don't wait — sign up now! I wanted to watch this with the family at least my kids but I guess that’s a no-no... time to indulge myself.
Many are praising the film:
"In a world where so many people are suffering, movies like this are the encouragement that we all need to face difficult times with strength, offering forgiveness and hope when it’s needed most."
-Jerry Falwell, Liberty University President "This film is a must-see!"
-Reverend Franklin Graham "This movie figuratively and literally shines a light on Jesus Christ."
-Missy Robertson, "Duck Dynasty" "This movie is a giant step forward for the faith-based genre."
-Governor Mike Huckabee "An emotionally powerful, insightful, inspiring drama."

Called To Serve.
To Serve God and His people is such a Privilege and a fulfilling thing to do every week. I believe everyone has a part to play in building God’s kingdom and leading people to knowing Christ. It doesn’t have to be a grand gesture. Smiling to others and reminding them of God’s love by caring is a way of serving. Being an encouragement is also a way to serve. We can serve in so many ways.
Since I was young, I knew I was called to serve. It has been my desire to be planted in His Church. And now that God has made me sacrifice my career & family back home, He sure did planted me in a church where I can pursue what He’s called me to do. Everything I went through was all meant to happen leading me to where I am now. He brought me far across the globe for greater things He has in store for me. I know things wouldn’t be easy but I’m pretty sure it‘s all worth it.
We can serve wherever God has positioned us—whether it’s in your workplace, school, community, family, etc. Allow God to use you to be His beamer of light and bearer of love. Nothing in this world matters than getting closer to Christ, living a life for Him and leading people to the Father.
God is faithful to reward all the good works we’ve done for His kingdom. Never give up on doing greater things for His kingdom and His people for God does not forget everything you’ve done for Him. Your reward is coming. Expect for blessings, for His miracle, for a breakthrough. We live for one purpose and that’s to love Christ by also loving His people. We are blessed to be a blessing.
My heart is just grateful that I get to do this for God’s kingdom. All glory pointing out to Jesus🙌🏻. Apart from His grace, this wouldn’t be possible.
