Grazie 🙏

Do you remember where you were on 9-11? I was driving on the 101 Freeway from the valley, headed into Beverly Hills for work after staying at a friend's (I lived in Orange County & had to work early). I was horrified to hear & watch the horror unfold on live television. I called my son's nanny & had her pack up my son & bring him up to Los Angeles, because there were reports that a typical target would be the San Onofre nuclear plant. My logic was to get my family together, if I could. It was horrific & the only attack we have suffered on our mainland soil.... and by far the most devastating attack known to us in modern times. But as this photo of the Eiffel Tower came up in my FB memories, another memory struck me from that horrible day: I remember the news stations showing the grief & horror from around the world. People were balling & hysterical in other countries, over what had happened to the United States. They immediately began to erect shrines & memorials honoring us. I remember when they showed people in France, in Paris, crying hysterically & so saddened by our tragedy. They mentioned the great relationship the US shared with France since before they gifted us with Lady Liberty in NYC. I was so touched. Fast forward to when I was in Paris in 2015, the Charlie Hebdo attacks had occurred that year (January). In November, just a couple of months later, the city-wide terrorist attacks occurred there too. I was struck & horrified, yes, but as I look at this photo, I realize I wasn't hysterical. I didn't erect a memorial for the countless innocent lives that were lost all in the name of hatred for anyone who is "not them." We have (certainly I have) become desensitized. Prior to 9-11, terrorism was real & horrible, but it was largely relegated to the Middle East or other countries. It happened "over there." Now, it has become a regular, everyday threat. It is so very sad to think we will never again live happily without the threat that someone could come along who hates our people or our ideology so much, they want to kill us - LOTS of us. Let's change the world 1 person at a time. Can we do that? #neverforget911 ps) see this post on my other tagged accts!

A fun morning with my friend Sandy took a turn. I remember our eyes and mind's unable to comprehend anything we were seeing on GMA. How we both were stunned and horrified, as details unfolded. This was not an accident. Terrified our thoughts turned to our kids who were at school. Our world, our little lives changed. The feeling of safety from unnatural disasters, had new meaning as this was a deliberate human terror attack. My children's worlds we're not so innocent anymore and I was terrified inside. Their fences surrounding their schools became solo cup tributes to patriotism. Cookies and tributes to our local fire fighters, verbally thanking our police for protecting us became our little family mission. Love each other, hold on to each other, protect each other. I became more patriotic, I love my country. I wish the terror would stop. I admittedly have little patience and no understanding why it continues 16 years later. #NeverForget911 #barcelonaterrorattack #londonterror #parisattacks

As long as double-standards dominate western policies, as long as terrorism- in the view of its powerful supporters- is divided into “good” and “bad” types, and as long as governmental interests are given precedence over human values and ethics, the roots of violence should not be searched for in other places. ~Ayatollah Khamenei, 29/11/15

As long as double-standards dominate western policies, as long as terrorism- in the view of its powerful supporters- is divided into “good” and “bad” types, and as long as governmental interests are given precedence over human values and ethics, the roots of violence should not be searched for in other places.
Pour Paris
A dedication to the victims in Paris.

Took her to the hotel afterwards for a juice and as we were leaving she waited outside for the car, I shot her through the glass panel.

New Music!! And the Best music I have written/composed/created, period. 🎶 on iTunes and Spotify, My String Quartet entitled "Paris" a 5 minute journey, which I was inspired to write after the attacks in Paris, as an ode to French Culture and how much it has affected and influenced me on my musical journey. I had the honor of working with the amazing musicians @donobutez and @fahsohlah on the Guitars, @itsmichellejade on the Violin and Mr Pierre Dercyzs on Cello . Link to iTunes in my profile 👆🏽. What convinces a terrorist to sacrifice his life?
French daily @lemondefr has analyzed how the terrorists in the attacks in #Paris and #Brussels justified their missions, by comparing letters they had left their friends and families, statements given by a few captured cell members, and the propaganda circulating in jihadist circles.

#TuesdayTravel This is a picture from the last time I was in Paris, which feels like too long ago now. It was a week or two after the Paris attacks and the whole world (or at least it seemed like the whole world) had descended on Paris for COP21. Security was high, tensions were high and I remember considering postponing or even cancelling the trip. In light of what’s been going on in the last few weeks, I’m reminded that we must not live in fear. God has not given us a spirit of fear but of power, and of love and of a sound mind. So let’s be empowered to love. We’re gifted for and called to so much more! xx

Soon it will be anyone with a beard or has a brown complexion is considered a terrorist. Anyone that is Muslim is a terrorist lol madting. I can't comprehend how a whole religion which literally means peace is causing all the terror and harm. If that were the case then the 1.8 billion Muslims in the world are terrorists which means nobody's got a chance against them lol. May Allah protect us all from all the messed up Islamophobic people out there 😪protect your children and family as no where is safe anymore...
