#MondayMotivation In our latest episode we discussed Crystal Tennille Irby #TEDx performance Bible Belt Black: A Biomythography:
"Everyday we wake with the weight of the world on our shoulders
And just when you feel every inch of your marrow running dry
Some sweet sistah whispers in our ear
There’s a village
There are women among us with beautiful wings disguised as arms that reach through time
Wrap us up so that we can stand
Face whatever mountain standing in our way
Face the day cloaked in truth when it would have been easier to lay down in lies
Even allowing us to mount their wings
Remind us: We worthy of love,
We are worthy of forgiveness/redemption,
We are creators.
We are more than fly
We light up the sky
We are electric
We illuminate the world
We know what love looks like
So I will stay here, build on this blood soaked land and tell the stories women who went toe to toe with death, who bore fruit in a land thirsty for Black blood since it’s inception. I will tell children secrets once swallowed by this soil but forever etched in memory now unleashed. I will bare witness to days past and they will look at me in awe as if I am a preacher spinning tales of ancient times. They will say “Mama, we won.” I will say “Yes baby, love won.”

This is one of my favorite videos because of the sheer arrogance of the man arguing against veganism here. I feel like I have had this conversation many times (but not as intense) and some people are just hopeless. When you encounter a person like this it's best to just walk away and not waste your time or let yourself sink to a their level. Props to James for remaining calm even when he felt absolute frustration. It just goes to show even the most peaceful people can't always be kumbaya all the time. When you're this passionate about something and someone your emotions can get the best of you sometimes and you can't help it. Nobody is perfect. Mad respect always @jamesaspey ✌🏼
Remember to stay happy, wild, playful and truth to your inner self. No matter what happens in life, or how hard are the sittuations you're going through at this moment, your attitude will change everything. TRUST ME. Don't listen to anyone who insults you, makes you feel down, bad, sad, insecure or judge you all the time. YOU DESSERVE BETTER and you're the owner of your own destiny. We can't control anything, but the way we react to whatever happens to us in life. If you need to talk to anyone my dm is opened, stay safe and seek for help if you or a love one fear for your/his/her life at this moment, or if you are experimenting any type of abusse (physical, verbal, emotional, etc...). Don't let toxic people drain your well-being and get rid of that kind of relationship/person ASAP. Taking care of our mental, physical & emotional health is a priority! Remember you are so loved and you are important. I had some experiences related to this issues and I'm using this platform to tell you that things will get better, you will become stronger, wiser and resilient. But you need to take responsability of your life now and act. #PeaceOverViolence#JibaraSoy#RaiseAwareness
She was once my pretty ballerina,
Who twirled and danced when she pleased.
Happy, blissful, love was in her eyes.
Until one day she came across a shooting star.
As so she thought...
This shooting star showed my beautiful ballerina the universe.
Her eyes sparkled like the sun
The shooting star promised my beautiful ballerina she can dance where ever she pleased.
On the gases of Neptune,
On Mars' heat surfaces,
Even on the rings of Saturn.
Where ever her beautiful ballerina soul pleased
Then my beautiful ballerina told me goodbye.
Tears in her beautiful eyes and in mine
Little did she know
The shooting star wasn't a star
He was a black hole.
A possessive and dark creature in the universe
The beautiful ballerina was tricked and only was able to dance in his realm of darkness and dispare.
The beautiful ballerina was tricked and forever trapped.
No gases of neptune,
No heat surfaces of Mars,
And no rings of Saturn,
Will be danced by her beautiful feet.
I spent the morning in the mountains and came home to learn of the tragedy that happened today in Virginia. Since November of last year, I have made it my mission to speak my mind and stand up for my brothers and sisters. With an online business, many suggested I stay quiet for fear of limiting my client base and losing customers. As I mentioned this morning, life is a strand of moments, determined by our choices. I did not choose silence. I chose to break free from the silence and share what was and still is on my heart. I have lost friendships and have had the trust in others completely deteriorate. I have had people unfollow me, question my views and I have done the same. •
Today, today my heart is broken yet again.
Am I privileged?
Am I a white female?
Does that mean I will bite my tongue and remain silent?
I will not remain silent and I urge you to speak up alongside of the rest of us who are speaking. I will not carry on with a turned cheek. I will not remain silent. •
This world is in need of a healing stronger than any words can begin to describe. This is the time to rise my friends. This is the time to speak and to show others the kind of world you long to live in. •
I want to play an important part in healing this world, in creating a society who respects, honors and loves all brothers and sisters. •
I want a world that does not tolerate, condone or welcome racisim, bigotry, hatred and violence.
I want a world where we are free to love who we love. Without fearing judgement or the safety of our lives.
I want a world where we live in the light and spread a message of love, unity and justice.
I want a world where our children are safe to walk down the street regardless of where we live or the color of our skin.
Some may call me ignorant.
Some may say this world doesn't exist.
And to you I say, it will never exist unless we all wake up and start creating it.
I don't know about you but, I stand for love.
I stand for peace.
And I am here, loud, strong and not going anywhere.
I may only be one voice but, I will use this one voice to change the fabric of America.
