I was eager to get back into the gym after I had my little one... but my body was not prepared.
It felt like I had to start from square one, and my body was telling me to treat it better. That is when I started to spend hours doing mobility and flexibility work to ensure that I am healing instead of going straight into the load training that would have caused further injury.
One of the hardest things that I experienced was seeing the changes in my body after birth, but I felt so empowered and grateful after seeing what my body is capable of.

Here’s what counts for me: deriving (and generating) incredible power through movement and the exchange of energy that happens in group fitness. That room was filled with as many personal moments of achievement and breakthrough as there were bikes and each of us got to ride the collective energy of aaall that! Now THAT’s #BOMBCYCL [ONE]ING Aaayyooo!!

Huff 50K is an annual Christmas time tradition. The race yesterday felt especially satisfying to finish, but not because of the challenging weather and course conditions. After dropping out of my last two ultra races, it was great to simply go out give my best effort and cross the finish line! Ended up in 2nd place. Thank you @361usa and @vitalyte_sports_nutrition. Also, big ups to my dad for traveling with me and freezing his butt off to cheer and spectate! #gymfail I figure it's been more than 24 hours since I experienced an embarrassing moment performing decline #pushups using #kettlebells . I know what some of you fitness gurus are thinking, "Dude why not use a dumbbell with a wider base? You gonna lose your balance." Blah blah blah. Yes, you're right BUT I wanted more tricep activity by gripping the handle. Results: left side kettlebell tipped over. Fell hard on my left side to avoid twisting my wrist. 😩🙈 Slightly bruised hip. But you gotta fail before you can succeed. Made some slight adjustments and completed the next 3 sets, bruised hip and all. Don't allow a setback to keep you from progressing! 💪🏽

Today, I overcame self-doubt to push 302 lbs not once or twice, but 8 times! 💪🏽 Albeit my stabilizer muscles are removed from the push process, it still requires remarkable strength and determination to move that amount of weight 8 times. It's amazing what one can achieve by simply closing his/her eyes and imagining the unthinkable. Train your mind everyday to envision possibilities and speak them into existence. But be prepared to fail many times before succeeding. Failure builds character (and muscles 😁). The power of positive thinking is undeniable. 🙌🏽
