Bryn Kenney has kicked off 2017 with a massive heater. He started by finishing seventh in the $100,000 buy-in PokerStars Championship Bahamas super high roller for $275,060. The following day he took down the $50,000 buy-in single day high roller at the same festival, defeating a field of 69 entries to win $969,075. Kenney wasted no time in getting back to the winner’s circle. Just two days removed from that victory he took down a $25,0000 single day high roller that the PCS Bahamas added to their schedule after it was requested by the players.
The 30-year-old from New York outlasted a field of 59 entries in that event, making a deal heads-up with Dario Sammartino to secure the title and the top prize of $392,876. Kenney also earned 420 Card Player Player of the Year points for the win.
As a result of winning two titles and making three POY-qualified final tables Kenney has taken the lead in the overall standings for the 2017 POY race, which is presented this year by the Commerce Hotel & Casino. With 1,182 points and $1,637,011 in year-to-date earnings, Kenney will likely be a player to watch throughout the year.
