That about sums it up. I’ve been averaging 6.5 to 7 miles a day, but my workout times keep getting cut short or put off because of work.

🍖Another week it'll be 12 weeks since my first bulk. Initially aiming at 15lbs weight gain, hit 15lbs but coach said still too lean so we going for 20. Currently averaging at 17lbs gain. Almost there.

🥕It all started when I was 160lbs(72kg) feeling super small and weak. I thought with visible abs I'd look and feel like those magazine cover models. Felt more like a un-sharpened pencil. Decided I want to get stronger, so in came barbell training along with a bulk.

🥒It's been such a different experience purposely gain weight. My whole life is a story about weight cut. Forever cutting.

🍕I thought bulking meant I was free to eat whatever I want. First mistake I made in week 1-2, gained 8-10 pounds instantly. The plan was to gain 1-2lbs a week. So I had to slow way way down. At the end the day it's still kinda like cutting. Still tracking calories. Still need to be disciplined. Except a sneak treat here and there was welcome.

🥨All in all, I never thought I'd say this, but I really can't wait to get back on a calorie deficit, eating around 1400-1500 a day.

Something i have to seriously tell myself every day in many different aspects of my life. I don’t have to be the perfect mother, the perfect wife, the perfect boss, have the perfect body or the perfect life. Being different and being imperfect is actually OK. Everyone is imperfect. Everyone has bad days. Everyone loses patience. Everyone has rolls when they’re sitting and slouching. I may struggle to cut fat from my behind and my thighs where as the next girl may struggle to build muscle there. We are both perfectly imperfect and as long as we are striving for progress than we are doing it right 💪🏻💪🏻 #progressnotperfection #selflove

345 down 0 to go - Yep that’s a wrap!  Not sure who is more excited ?! Mad props to modern medicine for keeping me and this beauty alive and well for the closest part of a year. I remember the first time I had to inject his into me, like it was yesterday, the pain and the burn , motherhood had a rude awakening for me from pretty much day 1. To some it may seem insignificant but this part of my motherhood journey really set the foundation for me as a Mum, everyday I was forced to do something I definitely did not look forward too or want to do, everyday I had to make sure I left the house prepared so that I didn’t miss a dose. Knowing that the health of me and my daughter was held in the liquid within this plastic gave me an even more sense of overwhelm when she was finally placed on my chest. I will be honest, I feel bittersweet about this being the end because it really symbolizes the end of such an incredible journey, it’s made me realize how much I freaking loved being pregnant, so until next time....

It’s still so crazy to me that I am at a place now that I choose to get up early to workout and have some peaceful “me” time.  I probably sound like a broken record but I seriously was the most CRABBY person to be around in the morning.  I loved my sleep.

Now I’m not saying now I just perk right out of bed all smiles and giggles, but I do wake up with clear intention and focus.

▪️I read my devotion and pray
▪️Repeat a positive affirmation
▪️Get my sweat on
▪️Check in with my ladies!

This little routine just helps me set a positive mood for the day, no matter what comes.  I feel like I have an extra boost of energy to tackle the day. And I feel grounded that I make Jesus my first focus at the start of the day, because for me, my faith is what I want to invest in most but it does take disciple and being intentional with my time in this crazy busy world.

I know some of you say, well, I’m just not a morning person. I could never get up early.  Well I was there too.  I loved sleeping in but I don’t miss feeling sluggish throughout the day or stressed because I can’t find time to workout or have some peaceful alone time as a mama.

2018 is cruising right along!  How goes the mojo? Hopefully you are feeling positive and able to get through your daily activities with minimal stress overload feeling great at the end of most  days! 
If your answer is not a solid YES, there may be some factors to consider. 
It can be a lot to think about and combing through all the information out there, often overwhelming and even unsafe to follow. 
Regardless of familial genes our basic Human biology requires specific things like air, water, movement….you get the idea.
Our bodies speak a specific language and it works on signals. They come in from our brain and environment.  We send physical, chemical and emotional signals to our system all day everyday.  Here are some examples:
Physical = movement during daily activities and exercise. 
Chemical= food choices, medications,hydration
Emotional = beliefs and thoughts, family, job or personal stress.  Our mojo can be knocked out in an instant by imbalances in any of these areas.
 In fact emotional stress may be the most impactful. Since the stressor can be real or imagined, just thinking about something perceived as stressful can jack your heart rate, making you want to run for the hills and you haven't even left your cozy bed!! Positive in = positive out. 
Giving our system positive signals produce more positive responses. Paying huge dividends! 
Easily we get caught up in just surviving the day instead of mindfully creating the circumstances to thrive.  I want to feel different but how??? Awareness.  Mindful intention.  Daily practice.  Support.

What small step can I take to change or improve the signals I am giving? 
Breathe.  Move your body.  Hydrate with good ol’ H20.  Make a mental gratitude list. 
PIck one today, add another tomorrow or in a few days. Beginning simple and ADDING will create a snowball effect and set a foundation for as much progress as you choose to make.

I got vanilla, chocolate & salted caramel flavours! The official syn values haven’t been officially posted by slimming world yet but using the macro measurements detailed on the back and the SW online calculator these are the results! I had a tea spoon of each when I got in and I have to say they are really tasty! Yet another late post. Day 3 was cardio and core work. I'm not a fan of cardio. I'm overweight and slow and get out of breath easily. But my trainer kept reminding me to control my breathing rather than letting it control me, and ya know what? It helped. 
The core work was done with the use of sliderz, and while I have major room for improvement, I did pretty well.

I want to talk 2018 goals for just a minute. TBH I don't think I've ever stuck to a new years resolution throughout an entire year. Like ever.
•
Enter {life} goal #1: to consciously improve my consistency.
•
I'm ALL over the place on the spectrum of being incredibly OCD and passionate about some things, to not giving one glimmering care in the world about others. Middle ground is a rare discovery. I literally haven't finished one book in a long time though I've started many (who AM I?!). I need to really get my FOCUS in order to carry my passions through to completion, maybe even up to a level of expertise. It's hard to excel at any one thing with too many things on your plate!

In my household I am:
A wife.
A mommy.
A cheerleader.
A coach.
A chef.
A housekeeper.
The chief technology officer (Hubby's name for it, not mine!).
A pet sitter.
An administrative assistant.
Some sort of awful interior designer. 
A counselor.
A worker bee.
Whatever you call the person (see above?) who keeps up with appointments, reminders, grocery lists, medicine schedules, when to change air filters and glade plug-ins, ETCETERA

If I take a step back and look at when I feel most productive at a basic level, that time is no doubt in the morning. If I save work or a workout til the afternoon, the chances of it getting done are pretty much immediately reduced by half.

So, I'm trying to pay conscious attention to when I naturally operate best so I'm not going against the grain here. I think that's step one for all of us who feel stretched thin at times. Me time is important! As much as I like having my nails did, those who know me know that they ain't did often, haha! My personal self care comes in the form of workouts, long walks, brief bouts of meditation, reading constructive materials. If I didn't, I couldn't effectively manage all those roles I listed above. I'm a constant work in progress but keeping my head up - to infinity and beyond! 😉🚀

Persistence. Dedication. Hard work. Consistency. These are what it takes to reach fitness goals... and let’s be honest... those can be extremely hard to keep, because sometimes you just want to binge eat the whole box of cookies with fat glasses of chocolate milk of the whole variety while watching your favorite Netflix series. Especially during these cold, below freezing temps when we just want a little extra warmth, so we add it in the weight variety because food brings us the joy cold weather does not supply. Trust me, I totally get it. I also enjoy my wine, sometimes by the bottle if I’m feeling feisty 🤷‍♀️ oh, and do not even get me started on how warm I am in my sheets snuggled up to my fiancé when my 5 o’clock AM alarm goes off and all I want to do is snake back into bed and pretend I did not hear it, or I can just push it to tomorrow because one day off won’t hurt.

Just because I wake up at 5, meal plan, and workout every day does not mean I’m not human, and it sure as heck does not mean I do not have those urges to reach for the snacks and eat for entertainment... but I’ve got goals, and crushing those goals is important to ME. The difference between those people with 6 pack abs that we yearn to have and ourselves is THE DRIVE. They wake up and DO IT instead of just dream it. Dreams are great but we have to ACT on them to bring them to life. I want to be the type of person that I can be proud of and set an example to the type of person I want my daughter to be.

Do I always want to hit play? Heck no. Do I wake up feeling like Snow White every day? Definitely not. But I do it. I do it for me. I do it for my daughter. I do it to be the best future wife I can possibly be.

I know when I start my day in breath, prayer, the Word and meditation, I feel more grounded.  I'm able to start my day on the right note.  As my peace starts slipping away, I try to stop and reconnect with that feeling of peace that comes from Jesus. Hebrews 6 says that Hope (Jesus) is a trustworthy anchor for our souls.  He leads us into the inner curtain (presence with the King, Papa,Abba). Presence is the  place where I find my strength.
