Peace Out Arizona ✌ see you in the new year 🌠
Just got done guiding my last trip of the season with a pretty awesome group of #reiadventures backpackers.👣⛰ Lots of laughs, stories, and legends were had and told. 🌵Maybe a few adventure scrapes and cacti run in, no gold but many great memories. 🍃💙 Definately no better way to end the season than on such a high note. 💖
BUT I am off to Ohio tomorrow and have a crap ton of unpacking, laundry and repacking to do before my early morning flight....🙈🤦😕😲✈ #nosleepforstephanie#guidelife#gypsylife#reiproject1440#superstitionmountains#optoutside#alwayspacking
* Sarah (26) and Danny (31), England * ••• I moved to NZ for no reasons, just the heck of adventures. I didn't know anyone and moved into a random house. Lucky me, I found them. This couple made me feel accepted and appreciated. They are kind hearted, soulful and funny. So funny. I will miss them as they hit the road to discover Kiwi land. People are always what makes a place special, thank you for being inviting and caring. "Love you Millions" ••• Here is a sneak idea of why they are traveling in their car & what they want to discover on the way. "We are both so excited to see Abel Tasman, it looks sensational. So different to the mountains we are used to seeing for the past 8 months!
We both want to experience the homeless life, living in a car, on a budget and knowing that you can see and do the most amazing things in life with little money.
Our desire to hit the road stemmed from the desire to really get up close and personal with New Zealand and it’s surroundings. Living like a true backpacker.
We really want to learn more about the Mauri culture and learn about the history and listen to the stories the mauri people have to tell us. We also believe we will learn a lot about ourselves and how beautiful life is with only few possessions.
We don’t really struggle with much at the moment, we love not knowing what to expect and not knowing where we will be from one day to the next. But we do miss our family a huge amount. But knowing they support us with everything we do really does help." ••• With joy ❤️ #globelletravels#tlpicks#backpacker#beautifulmatters#newzealand#newzealandfinds#livetravelchannel#travelgram#beautifuldestinations#traveltagged#travelandleisure#traveltheworld#travelphotography#traveldiaries#rei1440project#thetrailspeaks#traveladdict#routeburntrack#routeburn#glenorchy#hike#flyandseek#optoutside

Have you felt like you wanted to travel but did not think you could because you were broke or fearful? Kenzie will change your mind: Exploring the world and drifting with the wind can be your new lifestyle if you become aware of the thousands opportunities waiting for you. Go out there and do what you love because it is possible! • "I started a blog called Near & Far (the webpage is explorenearandfar.com) with the intention of encouraging curiosity and exploration everywhere, whether that be across the globe or in a local community. Market research suggests millennials are spending more money on experiences like travel than our predecessors, but when I look around, I see my peers watching social media influencers and dreaming about a life that is separate from any experience they'll ever be able to afford. I believe that travel doesn't have to break the bank, and it doesn't even have to involve a plane ticket. You can commit to a day exploring your backyard and feel like you've had an adventure without spending any money, but if you do feel like covering some distance, you shouldn't ever feel like just because you haven't spent thousands of dollars you are somehow missing out. Back to the point, I'm proud to have launched Near & Far ( @explorenearandfar on Instagram), and I hope people will find it to be a valuable resource for travel and inspiration. " how are you living l?" I would say that I'm living fearfully and wonderfully. I moved to Spain a month ago, and nothing is as I expected. There are challenges that I didn't anticipate, and there is also bliss that I didn't predict. Days can be hard, but I also get to spend every night with my best friend-slash-fiancé. Every day is something new, and that's exciting and exasperating all bundled up into one messy package. I think my story right now is a bit of a paradox. It's confusing and clear, pleasant and terrifying, busy and idle. But the greatest thing about this part of my life is the freedom and possibility. Anything can happen from there, and that's magical" ••• With joy ❤️
* Cameron, 22, USA *
This picture is exactly Cameron: Turn the camera upside down, take a selfie of him laughing at me just after I fell. What a bright smile, it's impossible not to smile either looking at this picture (and if you heard his laugh, you'd laugh just as much) •
Cam just moved back home after college and we all know that it can get really unsettling. I asked "what is your biggest challenge right now? What are you looking to accomplish in the next year?" • "My biggest challenge in life right now has been adjusting to my “new” life in Seattle. I grew up in Seattle and I feel as if I have almost regressed back to where I was when I originally left Seattle. After spending four years with in Boise with so many people that I love and then moving away and kind of starting over has been weird. I went from constantly being surrounded by people that would push me in ways that I didn’t realize to now having to force myself outside of my comfort zone for that personal growth. I had found myself being complacent with normal day to day activities and that is when I realized I needed to make a change.
Over the next year, I’m really going to focus on personal development. I will be continuing to further my education by going back to school for my Master’s Degree. I am looking to move into the heart of Seattle to truly experience what this beautiful city has to offer. Forming stronger relationships and creating memories with my family will also be a huge priority so I will be traveling to India with my older sister which will be amazing but also a huge learning experience. “I may not be where I want to be, but I promise I’m getting there” •

Happy #WoodsonWednesday ! Potato Chip Rock is arguably one of the most photographed natural features in San Diego, which is why we honor it every week with its own hashtag. Throw in a beautiful autumn sunset and you’ll get this stunning photo by @ki__hoko. Tag your sunset hiking partners! #HikeSanDiego#HISD
Happy Trail Tuesday! Or Train Tuesday? How about Trestle Tuesday? Whatever it is, we know that the cooler weather is approaching, which for many will mean more adventures into our local deserts. We’d like to put out a PSA that although the weather will be better suited for desert hiking, it isn’t an excuse for being less prepared. The dangers of the desert are always there. Do you take the 10 essentials with you whenever you hike? Can you name them? Navigation, Illumination, Sun Protection, Nutrition, Hydration, Insulation, Lighter/Fire Starter, Emergency Shelter, Repair Kit, and First-Aid Kit. It’s also a good rule of thumb to let someone know where you’ll be hiking, along with the hiking info (trailhead, parking, and estimated start and end time). I know we just scratched the surface, but we care about you and want to make sure you all seriously think about how you prepare for desert hiking, if you don’t already do so! Happy trails and be safe out there. Do you have other good tips to share? Let us know in the comments. 📷: @littlemissadventures #HikeSanDiego#HISD
Here’s another photo of the fun group from yesterday’s Trails & Ales event. If you couldn’t join us, do not worry - we’ll have our next one in February 2018. Stay tuned! 📷: @webikeforbeer #HikeSanDiego#HISD
The temptation is to only share the pictures that make us look the cool, sophisticated adventurer's we all are. But the mounting pile of evidence points to me normally looking kinda like a dork with a stupid grin plastered to my face when I'm photographed in the outdoors 😂 I'll leave looking cool to the people in front of my camera and continue to make a fool out of myself and enjoy every second of it!
