It felt #religious (even though it was “just” great marketing) to be part of the crowd viewing #leonardodavinci ’s #salvatormundi yesterday. What’s the big deal? Have you seen the #monalisa ? Probably not before it was cased behind inches of #perspex at the @museelouvre, right? This #oldmaster#painting is thought to have been made around the same time and was available for viewing for free to the public for a few days, with nothing to obstruct one’s view. Very rare moment, as we may never see it again once it sells at @christiesinc #auction . Estimate is over 140 million US$. Sigh. #mylifeiscomplete .
Keep me on the path that is straight the path of those who you have blessed and not the path of those who have gone astray or who have earned your anger increase me in knowledge and when I fall off bring me right back. #allah#faith#religious#muslimah#Muslim
What are the real characteristics of a Pharisee? Today someone who actually tells the truth makes righteous judgment is called a Pharisee. What did the Pharisees really love the truth or do they hate the truth? If they hated Jesus they hated the truth. So anybody who hates the truth obviously can be a Pharisee. It seems the world is religious and Jesus is not then. Humanism in my opinion is a religion we are all right by our own beliefs. Think of it OWN belief- own differing beliefs= religions. Codes of morals. Humanists believe if you're a good person that's all you need. So they only need their own goodness= their own righteousness? Jesus was hated because he was not religious but I get called religious because I preach about Jesus. It's always the religious people getting offended just like the Pharisees. Some people come to my pages like @fighter_for_jesus and telling me about my religion most of them are humanists. So who's the Pharisee me or you? The world is self-righteous exactly why they hate the truth the righteousness of Christ. If you are worldly you're most likely a Pharisee making unfair judgments because you hate the truth.
In this day when most people are discovering through science, that there are more planets, stars, galaxies and that space is infinite, the age old question of whether there is a God or not has become a hot debate again.
I as a muslim believe there is God, not because I was born into a muslim family, but because I have read and studied the Holy Quran.
So my first recommendation is that with an open mind, you read a holy book relevant to you or your upbringing and examine the words, the language.
It's imperative that every believer is familiar with the content of their holy books.
We have many talented writers around the world, who have produced magnificent pieces of work. Could one of them write something in that manner? No is the answer, because it has not been done in all these years! Therefore, a supreme entity could've only delivered these scriptures - God.
The human mind does not allow a capacity to think or imagine beyond what we have been taught and know.
Athiests and Agnostics ask if there is a God, why can we not see God? Where is God? My answer is If God did appear, how would they know it's God? Why would anyone worship God thereafter?
They say religion causes problems. I say people can happily co-exist if we celebrated the core similarities in our beliefs.
Look around the world. There are many followers of different faiths and variations. Where did our basic values stem from, if not religion?
Why are people so comfortable accepting "The Big bang theory" and "Darwin's theory", but without reading, dismiss religious text?
The answer is that people have become too lazy to follow anything that requires effort, everything that doesn't have a scientific explanation.
People are far to engrossed and preoccupied with the daily struggle routine in life, to devote their time to be religious.
The truth is in the books. Read them first and you will find all your answers... IGG
Burma's cardinal: 'The Pope will come to heal the wounds of the country'
By Andrea Gagliarducci
Yangon, Burma, Oct 20, 2017 #CNA#PopeFrancis ’ trip to #Burma will help heal the wounds of his country, especially for minorities under attack, the nation's sole cardinal maintains.
Cardinal Charles Maung Bo of Yangon is the first Burmese cardinal in the history of the Church. He was made a cardinal by Pope Francis in 2015.
Speaking with CNA about the upcoming papal trip to the country, Cardinal Bo stressed that the “Vatican and others need to work toward healing the wounds of our nation, by showing a future that can bring positive results for all communities.” Burma, also known as Myanmar, has garnered increased international attention in recent years because of an escalating persecution of the Rohingya, a predominantly Muslim ethnic group within the Buddhist majority state.
Pope Francis has made a number of appeals for the protection of the Rohingya, since at least May 2015.
Since late August, the United Nations estimates that 582,000 Rohingya have fled Burma's Rakhine state for Bangladesh.
Cardinal Bo told CNA he “hopes that the Pope will address the burning questions” of Rohingya persecution in a meeting scheduled with the country’s de facto leader Aung San Suu Kyi during the November trip.
He also said that the Pope will likely “encourage good steps”, and said that “as a Church, we want to affirm the intensity of human suffering” experienced by the Rohingya because “this problem has been there for last 60 years, and most intensely since 1982, when an unjust citizenship law passed.” The cardinal also noted that “there is a new energy let loose by the global Islamophobia. The xenophobic regulations in rich countries against Muslims encourages this. Injustice anywhere is injustice everywhere. Muslims are not suffering only in Burma.” He explained that recent government persecution of the Rohingya was a response to attacks on police stations by Rohingya militant groups. “Yet,” he said, “nothing can justify what happened afterwards.” www.catholicnewsagency.com #Myanmar , #PopeFrancisinBurma ,
