S H I N E ✨ When I was training for my first 10k run, my running buddy would constantly say to me 'Shine your light, shine your light' and this mantra has always stuck with me ✨
Of course, in terms of running it's important to have your shoulders & chest in the correct posture, but over time the meaning of this phrase has become so much more.
This 'light' is within each of us, it's a spark or a warmth or that certain 'something' that makes you 'you'. Too many times stress, worry, fear or anxiety hinder our light from shining its brightest, if at all. And I've been there. When the furthest thing I feel is light, and the darkness seems almost suffocating.
What I know now is that these were all lessons, challenges sent to teach me and opportunities to show more gratitude.
Along the way I've discovered it's ok to acknowledge when your light isn't shining so bright, when you're not sure how to even turn it on, and that it's ok to share that with people who can help or do something that makes you feel more YOU.
I'll admit, writing something so raw like this is still really daunting for me. Being so open isn't easy, my inner critic rises up to say 'what will people think' but then I remember that the more and more women I meet, I connect with through reiki or the goddess group, through social media, the more I realise we are not alone in our efforts to nurture & strengthen that inner light.
So I ask, what is one word that describes what you need today to nourish your light? ✨And what small action can you take? ❤️
