Where Class Began
The Edsel (named after Edsel Bryant Ford) was introduced in 1958 as the "car of the future". Unfortunately, that wasn't necessarily the case. After it's release, sales plummeted, and Ford lost over $350 million on the development, marketing and manufacturing of the model.
The Edsel became history in 1959, and production halted with a tally of 118,287 Edsel models haven been made.
While the Edsel never gained popularity with car buyers, it's definitely a classic reminder of the amazing artwork within the Ford family.
