"Before I've even had time to blink, they're already calling me old, when inside I'm like an unripe fruit."
Swallowing Mercury by Wioletta Greg is one amazing novella that was in #manbookerinternationallonglist and with good reason ☺️ It's a coming-of-age tale set in Poland of the 80s, told in memoir format and has a very folksy feel to it. This is not a book everyone would enjoy, as it isn't a single story with defined beginning, middle and end. But for people like me, who enjoy standalone narratives, exploring various themes, it's a great read.

This is my studio. I also have a third desk for messy painting but I wasn't using it enough so it's in storage atm. I have all my design and inspiration books on hand at my iMac desk. The blue desk is for drawing, cutting, collaging etc. I keep all my tools on the trolley and another storage shelf just out of shot. I made those stars with my kids a few years ago as xmas decoration and now they live on the wall. My printer is on a little wheely table so it doesn't take up desk space! Through the door is a (bomb site) walk in wardrobe where my husband keeps his clothes and I keep more of my design tools, archives, books, greeting card stock etc. The other half of this room has my husbands desk and skateboard storage for his company @freemanskateboarding, whose last boards I designed. There's also a sofa (which I've pushed out the way for this pic) and my big pin board that I'll share with you in a different post, because it's epic!!! 🙌🏼✨❤️🌿
I kept telling my students this during my first workshop. Learning different styles of upper case letters now, I find it helpful to tell myself this.
Learning new things takes time, mastering something even more. So while you're at it, do your best. And be kind to yourself.
