A size 6.5 and 7 still left in the shop! Plus some sweet Embodiment hand necklaces I secretly popped in the shop last week. I have been crazy busy, so I unfortunately wasn't able to do a proper shop update on these babes.
Physalis franchetii, which, despite the fragile appearance, its skeleton & skin are really quite tough & as it ages becomes a thing of beauty ....
A metaphor for so many things, but this morning it's about the beauty in ageing & not being pigeon-holed for how you look.. . . It's been a morning for reflection.
Finally I got around to test the samples of watercolor paper I got at the watercolor art fair at Edsvik konsthall earlier this summer.
I tested the 300 g and the 640 g against Fabriano No 5, 300 g paper.
The 640-paper has a rough surface with lots of texture, but this is true only if you compare it with Fabriano. No 5 and paint botanical illustrations... 😊 All other would probably say it is very smooth!
I like the 300 paper, I think it can do as a replacer for my No 5 paper which is running out for me. Maybe a little to much texturer here also, but I might be able to work around it. The end result when I compared the pictures side by side is similar. And the feel when painting was good. I have painted small objects and use little water, but it is working for me. So, @Winsorandnewton_nordics, I am going to by me a pad and work with it for some time. I hope I like it more 😁
And it is allways a good idea to paint some Tilia seedpods 😊 💕
