Venice, 1969 //⠀
Venice can be beautiful in so many ways but I’d guess many of them have the image of a gondola and gondolier within this picture as does this one, if only as a shadow. The picture depends very much on that patch of wall where stucco or plaster has given way to exposing the centuries old brick that lies beneath. Tiny details such as the strip of ribbon from the gondolier’s classical hat is shadowed along with the triangle lying on its side formed by his forearms and the oar. Those are all parts of the graphics that make up this image.

A quiet perch
This rock I'm sitting on is maybe 15' wide and 8' across, and the closest people are 500' below. Soon I'll start belaying from a pair of bolts on the North side, but for now I'm jus recovering from the final chimney and soaking in the afternoon sun.
As I finish a new project, it’s quite inspiring to look back on what I have done before.
