I had the chance of exploring this new #Chineserestaurant at #SMCHS over the weekend called #BAMBOU .
Stepping inside, I totally fell in love with it's ambiance. It has a cosy yet modern contemporary feel to it.
For starters, I ordered their special hot and sour soup which definitely lived up-to its name.
We ordered wasabi prawns and dynamite prawns for appetizers, as recommended by the waiters which was very well cooked and succulent.
Coming onto the mains,
their chicken chowmein was the highlight of the night. The noodles were crispy, vegetables fresh and the dish was bursting with flavors. We also ordered hot and spicy chicken with chicken fried rice and it tasted amazing, i just felt the gravy could have been a bit more spicy.
It was a wonderful experience throughout, plus I found a complementary BamBou tissue box in my car, which is very thoughtful of them..
So last night, we were invited to @bambou.pakistan soft launch. It's an upcoming Chinese restaurant, located at SMCHS and is capable of giving it's competitors a tough time.
I personally loved the ambiance, their interiors are really well designed. Coming on to the food;
We ordered bang bang prawns, wasabi prawns and chicken drumsticks, out of which bang bang prawns were the clear winner.
Wasabi prawns were a bit dry, chicken drumsticks was a let down as it was raw and had too much batter on it for us to enjoy.
Bambou hot and sour soup was a delight, hit all the right spots.
Chicken corn soup was a classic, nothing can beat it's taste.
We had to wait more than hour for our mains to be served which was a let down. Service was a big issue.
Loved it, tasted exactly like @chopchopwok. Perfect blend of crispy veggies and noodles.
Sczchuan prawns tasted good however I enjoyed Sczchuan chicken more than the prawns. It was juicy and well cooked served with chicken fried rice.
Beef chilli dry could have been better, I found it to be a bit chewy.
Chicken in hot garlic sauce was amazing, couldn't wait to try it again. Loved the gravy that came with it.
All in all, it was a good effort by Bambou. They need to work on their service a lot as nobody would like to wait 1 hour for the food to be served. The waiters need to be trained a bit as well as they kept misplacing and forgetting orders. Other then that it can definitely make it's mark in the top Chinese restaurants of Karachi. Launching on 14th August! Save the date.
