The last couple of days were so nice with clear blue skies and almost smoke free air.
The smoke is settling back in the valley 😢😢
I really hope the weather people are right and we should be seeing rain in the next day or two.
Did a little errand running in Gresham today, on my last day off. Hit up SA, & they were having a SALE! So, I got this shirt, which I already love, a pair of Johnstone & Murphy tassel loafers, & a hand cranked Atlas pasta maker, all for $19.49. If I had purchased these items new, retail, the total would have been around $200USD. The shoes alone are $100 new. I got them for $6. The pasta maker, $65 new. I paid $11. I'm much more selective now, than I used to be. I probably have a lot to sift through, & get rid of. Today's purchases are not the get rid of type. I went to visit the grandparents, & the dogs. They are doing well, at age 90's doorstep. Then, I went to Natural Grocers & picked up some coffee, some roll-on deodorant, Herbal Magic Unscented, the only product that works on me, ever! Thank you Herbal Magic! I love you! And, I picked up some licorice tea. Because, smoky air, full of regular pollutants as well, due to a severe lack of rain, is very soon going to require an expectorant. All this stuff is gonna dry up in our bodies, & need a good loosening to get out! Tradicional Medicines version contains only licorice root. Thank you. Too many tea makers go putting cinnamon (cassia) in their blended teas. Not only am I allergic to cassia, but cinnamon/cassia is a warming agent. That's good perhaps for cold weather, especially accompanied by damp. But, during hot weather, our internal heat is already dangerously high. We just need an expectorant, not a warming agent. Tea is also medicine. Wait until the cold rains start, before ingesting warming herbs & spices. The body needs cooling right now, with all this smoke, heat, & pollution, not heating. Anyways, goodnight. Back at it tomorrow. #dayofshopping#errands#supplies#sale#thriftstorefind#groceries#coffee#tea#herbaltea#herbalmedicine#herbalmagic#september#smokyair
Tonight, we can't stop thinking of all the wildfires burning their way through the western United States. It saddens us to hear that so many beautiful places are being destroyed, places we have visited many times and grew up in. ⠀
This photo by @photosfromhart shows just how smoky it is over Oregon right now. Our thoughts are with the west, and we are hoping these fires can be stopped soon. ⠀
