Today (& for quite a few days recently since returning from travels)
I've slipped back into old habits
of allowing my
phone to be in my hand
within minutes of waking 🤦🏻♀️ There's 2 sides to this...... You see,
my media accounts USE TO BE
pretty detrimental to my mindset😫
Full of incredible bodies on Instagram, drama llamas on my Facebook,
& biased news reports.
I've unfollowed, I've sought out inspiring people &
I currently have zero 'news'
my mornings start with ME
Some nutritious greens drink
Gratitude, forgiveness, self love & daily intentions ❤️ An action of self care - stretching, mobilising, a walk or exercise session 🌿
I can go on my phone.📱
(Which is still full of awesomeness)
I am human.
I still do things I say I don't wanna do sometimes!
So at least my feeds are full of exposure of POSITIVE so the impact it has can actually still
be a kickstart to the day
When updating your media feeds.... Ask yourself....
How do I want to FEEL today?
What things do I want INSPIRATION &
Will something cause me to compare & feel shit about myself
or add VALUE to my life?
think about starting to limit your exposure first thing,
until you've served YOU & got clear about your day!
To have a clear mind
that you fill with GRATITUDE,
self LOVE & INTENTIONS
Is a POWERFUL start to the day!
These attributes are the FOUNDATIONS
HEALTH, FITNESS, or LIFESTYLE goal!

This was the article I [Cherie] sent to Cat ahead of her weekend off this weekend to celebrate her MIL's 70th birthday, and I sent this to her deliberately because we're both workaholics with a propensity to never really stop working, ... unless we're told [firmly] not to work.
It's this stupid thing we have where we need permission to enjoy a weekend, and we're trying [really hard!] to train ourselves out of that,
So this is what we do for each other now. We sent constant reminders to each other on Friday that the inbox can just fill up of a weekend, because seriously, nothing is so urgent that it should take our headspace on a weekend.
And when we get the more urgent e-mails that are almost commanding for us to take action [and solve their *crisis*] almost immediately? We send texts, or PM's, or DM's, and we say, "I know you've seen xyz e-mail, but it can wait, it's 10pm on a Saturday night, ... it can wait", and so we do.
We stop letting our perfectionistic, workaholic anxiety trick us into thinking that all of these things have to be attended to, ... and we "weekend" instead, because look at Cat's Charlie right here? Imagine we missed that air jump if we were nose deep in our phones, palpitating over all of the e-mails, and the commands, and the demands.
So business owners? In case you don't have a #businesswifey in your corner, this is your permission to stop *serving* people, and start serving yourself / your partner / your children.
It's the weekend. You work so hard. You're allowed to switch off. You're allowed to not work. You're allowed to en.JOY your life. x

Social media can sometimes take the characteristics of a separate life from our personal life, and to be honest, i think that's super important. Im not talking about not sharing about your life online, what i am talking about is being able to know when it's the time to take away from social media to tend to your real life.
Instagram is an awesome tool to finding inspiration, but in some seasons, it can be a stifler of inspiration.
Comparison is the largest issue for our generation today and i'll be the first one to admit that i sometimes struggle with this issue too. Let's be real- we all have been there a few times. If social media is a huge driver of this struggle for you, then you might want to sign out and take some time off to focus on all the good things in your life.
Sometimes social media puts unnecessary pressure on you and I believe that breaks are OK because it's important to keep ourselves accountable.
