Still a tiny bit sore from yesterday's 5K. It's probably because it was a very hilly course and I pushed really hard up those hills. On the bright side, a long uphill start made for an awesome downhill to the finish line! #burntheturkey#aftrc5k17
After 12 hours of traveling from Rhode Island to LA and getting home at 1am, I ran a 5K before church this morning. I am super pleased with the results. I got 6th out of 183. The 5 people ahead of me were from the local cross country team. So technically I got 1st place among "normal" people haha! The course was super hilly - with a ton of elevation gain right at the beginning. I think that's why I was able to get such a good start.
Thanks to @anytimefitness_chatsworth for putting on this awesome community event. It was cool to see Nick from @lostorosmexicanrestaurant lead the opening prayer.
I've mentioned before that I love running in new places. It's the best way to see a lot of things quickly! Today I went on 4 mile run around Providence. I saw the State House, Brown University the first Baptist church on America, and the Roger Williams memorial. It was great I even found some great hills! The only bad part was the fact that it was 40 degrees. As a Californian that was a SHOCK! #woztrips
Challenge brought to you by @9roundminthill.matthews ... laying on you back - legs off the ground and straight - do flutter kicks and simultaneously pump a heavy weighted ball into the air. We used a 16lb medicine ball. Do this for 3 solid mins. Our record was 140 pumps! Pumps only count if legs are straight and kicking! #chafinthedreamclt#clt#spartanready

First thing I did when I got home from camp this evening was run 10k. As weird as it sounds, a hard workout when I'm really tired actually gives me energy. It's like hitting the reset button on my brain.
Challenges are what make life interesting; overcoming them is what makes life meaningful.
2 weeks to go before the #spartanraceperth & the team got a practice run @baldivisfitness obstacle course today 💪
