Theres so much California to explore! 🌊🌅
Theres so much California to explore! 🌊🌅
I come here most nights to reset and re-center. Seems kind of silly to ask myself how this place restores me. It's easy enough to say that it just does. But as I stood here and watched the colors change last night...that's what I thought about.
.
I listened to the sounds of the birds and the waves rolling in. I breathed in the ocean. I stood there long enough to taste the salt on my lips. Long enough for it to push away the mess of thoughts and stresses in my life... and pull me into full and complete appreciation of the present moment. I felt so small and insignificant, but in the best way. I was connected to something so much bigger.
.
This photo takes me back to that moment...and as much as it evokes a sense of solitude, I dont feel alone when I look at it. I realize that I, and everyone else on that beach, were not the first to stand there in in awe of this immense beauty. There are centuries of those before us that stood in this place and witnessed the fading of the day...and those that will long after we're gone. I look at this and I feel connected to them...to time itself.
.
Wanted to share 🙏🏼♡ I hope you find yourself in a moment like this.✌

Enjoying a time with the fam on this pleasant Labor Day weekend by the sea. The weather was nice out and not that cold (thanks mostly to the ongoing heat wave the state was still having). This was during me & my family’s Labor Day weekend outing here at Half Moon Bay State Beach around Half Moon Bay, CA. This beach has 4 miles of broad, sandy beaches stretched out to welcome visitors to Half Moon Bay. This picturesque setting is ideal for sunbathing, fishing and picnicking. On clear, fogless evenings, this beach has a front row seat for sunsets over the Pacific.
Our outing in summary:
We reserved our spot at the picnic tables right at the edge of the beach just after 7:15 a.m. or so. Once we were setting up, lots of people quickly filled up the empty parking lot and the picnic tables swiftly filled up… By mid-morning, the rest of our family arrived and we ate our brunch. From then on, we pretty much enjoyed our time by the sea, away from the intense inland heat wave we’ve been having. I just chilled in one spot, taking in the cool refreshing sea breeze and ocean views right in front of me. We later took in the gorgeous but hazy sunset over the sea. We stayed until evening (until the parking lot emptied, though we still got caught in the crazy traffic as we tried to head back onto Highway 92!). Uncle Ricky also wanted to do some night fishing while waiting for the traffic to die down. Me, Steven & Jesse were keeping him company. After enduring chaotic, ‘Madras-like’ traffic around Half Moon Bay, we finally arrived back home just after 11:30 p.m. What a fun Labor Day outing I had with the fambam!

Me: "what's the name of this beach?"
Kyle: "I don't know."
Me: "they should call it Instagramer's beach." LOL•
•
There was a SURPLUS of photographers, selfie takers, models, tourists and more on this teensy beautiful beach! All of us taking turns using the cove for photos. Never had I ever seen anything like it! I'm thankful we got to go and see it though, because Kyle got some rad shots of some of my inventory. I got super lucky in the boyfriend department 🙌🏻😌 Shopping link in bio.

(Outing taken place Sunday, September 3, 2017)
Taking in the beautiful seaside views early this morning. It got crazy crowded later on… This was during me & my family’s Labor Day weekend outing here at Half Moon Bay State Beach around Half Moon Bay, CA. This beach has 4 miles of broad, sandy beaches stretched out to welcome visitors to Half Moon Bay. This picturesque setting is ideal for sunbathing, fishing and picnicking. On clear, fogless evenings, this beach has a front row seat for sunsets over the Pacific.

Last night before the movies and today on our beach trip! I must admit, I'm a complete pain in the ass when I don't get to see him. It's almost like I get some sort of separation anxiety. BUT, he ALWAYS comes through with little trips and sleepovers and showers me with unconditional love. We are each other's support, strength and backbone. Life would not be what it is if this man did not walk into my life. It wasn't a coincidence we met. It was mere fate and Gods plan. #LoveYou #almost4yearsstrong #Babe #beachdate #Carmel #BigSur #Monterey #StateBeach 🌊🙏🏽💕❤️ @12ga_ali

Attention!
Pay attention to what you are paying attention to. What and to whom are you giving power to?
Now is an auspicious time to focus on details with purpose. Being specific about what is truly desired and beneficial for wellness helps direct the next step toward growth. Some growth is gradual, sometimes growth is so rapid it hurts! Here's to growing pains and new beginnings ... The tide came in so fast here it caught me off guard ... Or so it seemed. After I thought about it later, I realized I really wasn't paying attention to the signs like I know to do. Almost got caught up! Almost

The seagulls were also out and about at Point Dume last Saturday, and photographing them were both fun and exhausting. As clueless and lazy as I was about wildlife photography, I spent most of my time sitting/kneeling/crouching in one spot and just aiming wildly at the birds flying around me. As my camera setting was set to continuous shots, the rapid clicking probably sounded more like a machine gun to those poor seagulls. I took at least 600 photos of the birds alone that afternoon. It took an hour to download the files and import them into Lightroom. Sorting through all of them was another story. In the end, I got one good enough photo. ONE. GOOD. PHOTO. I think i'll just stick to landscape photography. Lol.

What I love about California the most is the seemingly never-ending supply of beautiful beaches to check out. As was the case last Saturday. After driving an hour for lunch at the Malibu Seafood Fresh Market, we decided to look for a beach to spend the rest of the afternoon. Point Dume was just 10 mins away, so off we went there. It was a lot less crowded than some of the more popular California beaches and I like that. The point, a long bluff, was a short climb and offered an expansive view of the whole stretch of the beach and made quite a good place to watch the sunset.
