Each muscle, tendon, & nerve, fire, stretch, & relax to allow for even the smallest movements. Our quality of movement is dependent on our body’s ability to perform action within its range of motion.

When your body lacks mobility it may compensate in other areas. For example, if you lack mobility in your ankles your knees & hips have to compensate when you squat or lunge.

Foam rolling is also a fantastic way to help your muscles!

SEATED HIP EXTERNAL ROTATOR & HIP EXTENSOR STRETCH (aka modified hurdler stretch)

Sit with one leg extended in front; bend the other knee and place the sole against the inner thigh of extended leg. Keep your spine straight while bending forward to touch foot of outstretched leg. Pull toes towards yourself to increase stretch of calf muscles.

Stretches muscles involved in hip rotation and hip extension as well as back muscles such as latissimus dorsi and erector spinae. Stretching tight hip muscles necessary for rehabilitation of lumbar spine injuries. Tight hip extensors can often be the cause for lower back pain too.

Today I did something I very rarely do... Nothing!

I felt like I needed some time to myself so went into our room to watch a personal development video. And I ended up falling asleep. Til almost 10! 😳

Eventually I decided to do my stretch workout to ease my achey muscles from all my hard worn all week. 
Now it's almost noon and we're thinking of getting ready to head to the park.
