SEATED HIP EXTERNAL ROTATOR & HIP EXTENSOR STRETCH (aka modified hurdler stretch)

Sit with one leg extended in front; bend the other knee and place the sole against the inner thigh of extended leg. Keep your spine straight while bending forward to touch foot of outstretched leg. Pull toes towards yourself to increase stretch of calf muscles.

Stretches muscles involved in hip rotation and hip extension as well as back muscles such as latissimus dorsi and erector spinae. Stretching tight hip muscles necessary for rehabilitation of lumbar spine injuries. Tight hip extensors can often be the cause for lower back pain too.

Today I did something I very rarely do... Nothing!

I felt like I needed some time to myself so went into our room to watch a personal development video. And I ended up falling asleep. Til almost 10! 😳

Eventually I decided to do my stretch workout to ease my achey muscles from all my hard worn all week. 
Now it's almost noon and we're thinking of getting ready to head to the park.

Begin on all fours with hips above your knees and hands shoulder width apart. From here, push your feet and lift your knees off the floor, lift the hips up as you straighten the legs. Lengthen your spine while keeping your head and neck in line with the rest of spine, tucked between your arms. 
Stretches back of legs and arms and elongates spine. Is good for releasing tension from the tight leg muscles, also strengthening chest and arm muscles and toning core and waist

It is very important to stretch after a big workout to help with being sore

First stretch: bend both your legs and lean back. There should be a stretch in your back leg. If not, lean all the way back. Try to keep your hip as close the ground as possible and don't let your knee raise
Second stretch: make sure when standing you are not leaning over one hip. Try to stand straight while balancing (you can use a chair if you'd like but do not put weight on it) your knee and hip should be in line with eachother, or if flexible enough, the knee can be further back than the hip. Not infront.
Third stretch: Again, make sure your knee and ankle are in line. You should not be passing your ankle with your knee. Then simply bring your back leg up and try to keep your hips square towards your direction.
