Did you know that peppermint is an effective decongestant? Decongestants shrink the swollen membranes in the nose, making it easier to breathe. Additionally peppermint's cooling and soothing properties help to relax sore, tired muscles. Check out our selection of products that use peppermint!
Note: Pregnant or person with known medical condition should consult a physician before taking any herb product.
Microplane graters now come in all sizes and can be used to ‘shave’ or grate finely all manner of ingredients. Different sizes yield different sized grated pieces – experiment, it’s fun!👌 ❤️
These tools make prepping foods like ginger and garlic so much easier! And look how fluffy with our microplane makes the cheese on top of our Bolognese. 👀 🙌 -
Useful Tip: Keep your fingertips tucked in toward the food, like a bear claw, to avoid cutting your fingers!👍 🌟
Share your Microplane secrets and tricks - 📸 👀 Take a picture and tag it with #kitchentools and @familycooknyc
We’ll regram the best submissions!
We were privileged to have been invited to the Phorest Salon Owners Summit 2018 in Dublin.
Here we met experts within the field of business to really help us grow and provide exceptional customer care. Networking was key and we met some wonderful people from across the country. Looking forward to putting into practice what we have learnt for an even bigger and better 2018!
- Teaching Tuesdays - Today we are learning the F sound. This story is about some children who have gone to the beach. Some kids are making sand castles, some are playing in the water and some some kids were having a picnic. One child had got a fish float, and silly inky mouse let all the air out and it made a ‘f, f, f’ sound. #learningkingdom#jollyphonics#jollygrammar#teachingtuesday
I think in understanding that you always still have so much to learn brings with it a kind of childlike humility... There is so much that awaits us each day... That ah-ha moment can come at anytime.
For Vera Wang, she started designing at 40... Samuel L. Jackson didn't have a hollywood hit until he was 43... Henry Ford was 45 when he made his famous Model T car... Celebrity Chef, Julia Child got her feet wet with her cookbook at 50... Grandma Moses started her painting career at 78... It never really is too late... When it is your time, it is your time! Are you ready shine?
Do something new! Try something you have always wanted! Remember, a teacher may rise from anywhere... So, keep an open mind, as you never stop learning.

Awaken on my diffuser necklace today. I LOVE the way its soft scent is close to my face so I can smell it throughout the day. Constant reminder that my soul is awakened; to be plugged in and focused. .
Did you know your sense of smell is linked to your limbic system in your brain? .
Have you ever heard of the saying “smells ring bells”? Our limbic system stores smell memories and is responsible for how our body responds to certain aromas - good and bad. .
Did you know you can reprogram your body’s response to an aroma that is linked to a memory? .
Yep! You sure can. We were designed for greatness and with a purpose. .
As Cree people, we were given the gift of being named for the four parts of human beings. Nehiyawak, we were called.
It means being balanced in the four parts that are found in the four directions of the Medicine Wheel. These four parts for human beings are the spiritual, physical, emotional and mental aspects of the self. We need to try and balance these four parts that were given to us, to function as people.
The fire is in the centre of the Medicine Wheel. That is where the meaning of the teachings comes from. For me this fire is also the self. When you look at the Medicine Wheel, you start from self. And as you look out, you make your circle. #teachingtuesday

Having been an avid reader since I was small, I have always loved reading fairytales. Cinderella, Little Red Riding Hood, Hansel & Gretel, The Frog King... you name them- I read them multiple times and watched the film versions to death. This book was a fab retelling of the Grimm Brothers’ magical creations as they originally were ; in all their uncensored, hilarious, moral and at times downright gory magnificence (before Disney sugar coated them beyond recognition )in the unmistakable style of one of my fave authors, Phillip Pullman.
I’d deffo recommend it and especially on a dark, cosy night with the duvet up and hot chocolates out. That is... if you’re brave enough....📚📚📚📚📚
