There is a huge difference between "being" a black belt and "having" a black belt ... Within @brazil021bjj (and in other schools that hold the same values) it takes a lot more than just being good at jiu-jitsu. Time and day-to-day actions are just some of the requirements that will prove if you really are worthy of it. Do you want to get there? I'll give you some tips:
- Give your best during training and do not be "mutuca".
- Don't bring drama into your training/ the school
- Give your best to your partner while you are rolling, doesn't mean you have to hurt him. If you really want to prove something go to the competition. Your partner is your greatest asset in your school
- Do not compare yourself with your teammate, each person is different and is on their own path/timeline
5. Do not even think about when you will get promoted or why you didn't get promoted. If you do, you just move your name to the bottom of the list
- Don't be upset if you didn't get promoted: Would you rather be a solid purple belt or "suck" at brown belt?
-Be loyal/grateful to your school and your training partners who helped you get where you are.
- Dialogue is everything!! If you are unhappy with anything related to your school talk with your professor and maybe things will get better. Your Professors are humans and make mistakes too.
- If your professors, coaches and teammates are always there for you and you are still not performing the way what you wish maybe the problem is you!! Don't look to blame someone else and just do your homework.
- If for some reason you are no longer satisfied with your school, you can leave out the front door, after all, you have the free will to do whatever you want ... otherwise you will be another creonte, a disease without cure within jiu-jitsu.
