Hey my sweeties! 👋🏻 Paulette here! I wanted to welcome any new faces (and cyber hug 🤗 all you sweet souls!) Let’s celebrate the weekend by learning more about each other. I’ll go first... 😘
💜 — I’m a dark roast coffee girl! ☕️ But not until I moved to Portland, Oregon 17 years ago. Before that, I was light roast all the way....I mean gosh, I come from the land of sweet tea for goodness sakes. 😆 Now Portlanders love, and I do mean LOVE their coffee. They take it very seriously y’all! And honestly, I never had good coffee before I moved here. Now I’m hooked! 😋 And you don’t wanna talk to me in the morning before I’ve had my first cup. 🤣
I am so thankful you are here! Wave 👋 and comment below to tell me a little bit about YOU! 🙋🏻🙌🏻😘 ——————————— 📝
Side note: What you see here on Instagram is only one aspect of my life...I'm also a wife and mom. And I'm just like you, juggling many jobs/hats (and let me tell ya, that alone is a full time job). I try my best respond to all comments and messages, but of course there are only so many hours in a day...and I get so many requests for help/advice from fellow artists that it would be another full time job just to respond individually to each one.
So since I’d love to help more of you, I’m planning to start a paid monthly artist business coaching group in early 2018. Keep your eyes glued to my page for more info on that soon...
▪I'm having the sweetest moment, remembering exactly when and where I bought this darling, handmade, mother and son snow duo, and, just like that, I'm immediately transported back, back to an unexpected snow storm the winter Danl turned five.
It wasn't the first snow of the season; as a matter of fact, both the swing set and pool in our backyard were already completely covered. Jon had shoveled a narrow path from the house to the hot tub that was worn to the wooden walkway as a result of us running back and forth night after night.
The rest of the backyard was a sheet of pure white.
Despite the fact that it was already dark when the snow began to accumulate, it was the weekend, so Jon and I decided to bundle Danl up in his little red snowsuit, with the faux white fur trim, and head outdoors.
Fortunately for us, our neighbor, Eric, like a lot of "townies" in the little, New Hampshire, village we lived in, had a plow on his truck and kept our driveway free from the elements, which, you know if you've ever lived in a snowbelt, is a huge deal, saving us hundreds of dollars every winter.
Bundled up, from head to toe, we headed to the driveway for an impromptu dance party. Just the three of us. It was spontaneous and fun, and I remember it like it was yesterday.
But, I digress.
And just like that I'm back, moving these guys further back under the tree to make room for all of the gifts I've wrapped.
Amy Grant's "Emmanuel" is playing in the background. I'm singing; I'm happy, and then something I never noticed before hits me like a ton of bricks.
The snowmama is built just like me! She's a "pear" too, bigger on the bottom than on the top! How is it that I never noticed this before, in all the years I've owned, and loved, the appropriately, and affectionately, named, "Snowmama and her punk dancing in the driveway." Yup; I made that up. What gave me away? Punk? Love my punk.
At least she has a pretty face! Bless her.
If you're pretty; you're pretty, but the only way to be beautiful is to be loving. Otherwise, it's just Congratulations about your face.▪John Mayer.
When you get paid to do what you love...well that's just glorious. Cheers to all you boss babes out there making a living and supporting your families with your creative ventures. Keep killin it ladies. And if you're local, you're going to want to hit my girl up for one of these gorgeous beauties (delicious too!)
Stepped out of my comfort zone and onto the other side of the interview experience today to help out a friend with her documentary called “We the Conquerers.” It’s a mini-documentary featuring the stories of inspiring women and female business owners in the #Bozeman community. I’m humbled Rachel from @singlesixmedia asked me to be a part of her project. I honestly never thought my story was that impressive. Heck, most of the time I feel like I’m barely holding it all together with the many roles I juggle in life. Seriously, it’s a lot! I’m a writer, @fermentana.llc cofounder & event planner, @bznbeerweek organizer, and a heap of volunteer work with my local homebrew club and a couple conservation groups too. And while I know my story has value, as a freelance writer for the past 8 years I’ve spent more time asking others about their stories than telling my own. I guess I must be doing something right, though, if someone else wants to tell my tale. Thanks again for giving me an outlet to share it, Rachel. #stories#documentary#strongwomen#womeninbusiness#femaleentrepreneur#femaleempowerment#tellyourstory#fermentana#montana
The worst is over 🤞I'm no longer passed out in bed, but now I'm left to mourn the fact that in my 24-hour flu-induced sleep stupor we had to forfeit our midnight Stars Wars tickets and we now have to wave a sad goodbye to Net Neutrality. December, are you quite done with me yet? I'd love to get in a wee bit of merriment off the couch before 2018, thank you very much. At least my appetite is back a skosh, I can get to making up for the last 48 hours of fasting. Who makes good vegan pho in Portland?
Are you ready for this ? ... tell us who you want to meet !!! @mmeeeeeeeett

✨R E V I S I O N✨ The act or process of amending, altering, or changing something that is already written or printed in order to make corrections, improve, or update.
It's a process. Things must be examined, picked apart, deleted, rewritten. Lines you love get chopped from the manuscript if they don’t move the story forward.
Are you ready to do this with the narrative of your LIFE?
Don’t get caught in the hype of New Year without being clear on the changes you NEED and WANT to make in your life. It won’t happen just because of the flip of a calendar. Something has to flip inside of you and that change can begin today.
Are you ready for REVISION??? Name one thing that has to change NOW not later so you can #getyourinheritance 👇🏾👇🏾👇🏾
“Love doesn’t discriminate between the sinners and the saints. It takes and it takes and it takes.”
Holy.. wow. Finally got to see this incredible “American Musical”. I’m sure it’s already been discussed countless times, but how powerful to tell the story of the birth of this nation with all races, because that is the true American Story. The US is still young and the story is still being told by all us.
(Watching Coco and #Hamilton in the same week.. I’m a mess of emotions 😭, and hopelessly small in comparison to the unbelievable talent out there) #totallyoriginalpose
I didn't write this, but it resonates so deeply with me...
10 FACTS EVERY WOMAN SHOULD KNOW:
1. Everyone has rolls when they bend over.
2. When someone tells you that you're beautiful, believe them. They aren't lying.
3. Sometimes we all wake up with breath that could kill a goat.
4. For every woman unhappy with her stretch marks is another woman who wishes she had them.
5. You should DEFINITELY have more confidence. And if you saw yourself the way that others see you, you would.
6. Don't look for a man to save you. Be able to save yourself.
7. It's okay to not love every part of your body...but you should.
8. We all have that one friend who seems to have it all together. That woman with the seemingly perfect life. Well, you might be that woman to someone else.
9. You should be a priority. Not an option, a last resort, or a backup plan.
10. You're a woman. And that alone makes you pretty damn remarkable.

I am s t r u g g l i n g. 🙋🏻 I’ve been living with #chronicillness for almost a decade, but I still struggle to cope.
🤒 I wanted a joy-filled December, full of intentional moments with friends and neighbors. I wanted bright and beautiful, and I got loneliness and longing. (Thanks, pneumonia & immunosuppression.😡)
🎄This December hasn’t been near what I hoped. But in the disappointment and discomfort of what it has been, I’m compelled to hope for more.
📝I hope, I L O N G, for Jesus to return, to restore my body, to restore this world, to transform my suffering and yours into our joy and His glory. And so, I write, I share. Because I know just how much it hurts to be disappointed and how much it costs to hope.
❤️ This little corner of IG is my heart for you and for me, where our hurt can be acknowledged and our hope can be fueled. Thanks for hoping here along with me. #fridayintroductions
I’m wearing some sparkle for my boys preschool Christmas show today! And now we’re headed out for my Holiday Wine Club Party! 🍷
Being in full-time ministry is one of the biggest blessings and I am so honored that God has called me to spread the Gospel in the local church during this season. And, if you are in ministry, you know how crazy the Christmas season can be.. it’s been a while since I spent a day relaxing. But today was perfect. I spent the day with the ones that I love - laughing, belting out Christmas tunes, riding on hayrides and looking at beautiful lights. It’s good for the soul to slow down and just enjoy the beauty around you every now and then. Thankful for Jesus. Thankful for Christmas. Thankful for family. Thankful for today.
A little blurb about “us” for #introductionfriday : These two😍 They’re my whole world! Nothing cuter than a strapping man and his girly mini. He’s incredible and I swooned over him before, but now I can hardly breathe sometimes watching him as a Father. He is unbelievably tender and generous, a champion for the downtrodden, a voice for the vulnerable, an anchor through storms and chaos, and a lighthouse when the nights seem too dark! She is calm, alert and observant, full of wonder, goofy giggles and toothless grins. I am better because of them. I am more me than ever when I look in their eyes. They are my home, my story, and all of my WHYs. I feel so brave and thankful having them by my side.
LOOK, WOW, WOW
4 Leaf Clover.
I said a prayer yesterday that I want a sign my family is heading to an abundance of success and favor, love and luck and then my son comes home from school and found this.
I just have to say this is more than an assurance we are going to be more than OK, it's a sign that those that work with me next year will be under this same influence. PLUS it came in time cos my competition is still open and you can enter now and win a year with me having your 2018 covered with insights, love, luck and favor just like me.
Enter in BIO.
Here's a photo of a more complete result of my three-year photo project. The middle step was having my grandparents or mom write memories directly on the photograph. (I haven't shared those writings here yet. Maybe I will with others.) Once I had photographs, writings, and interviews, I wrote. It's a challenge to unravel and analyze the stories of your family.
It's crazy - I went to architecture school to learn I didn't enjoy designing buildings but rather stories. and God's still writing mine. the permanent ink hurts sometimes. although im reminded that it is ultimately for my good & his glory.
