Waiting justt waiting for. My little tator #toddler to wake me up again. She woke me up to tell me she had a dream about #chuckecheese and that we will go back but not right now. And that kids were throwing tickets as she acted it out. 😂😂😂❤❤❤ #momlife#mons#mums#kids#dreams
Too many kids suffer from constipation!😢. Most are under nourished and over fed with vitamin deficiencies and way too much sugar. Too much junk and little real food. I get it, most kids don’t like healthy foods. But, it’s creating an issue with our kids😢. And then there’s gut health. Poor gut health leads to mood swings, excess weight, and immune system. Harlow's smiles today said it all! She finally turned that corner and is getting back to her sassy and smiling self! This morning she woke up and asked for cheerios. She ate half of the bowl!
Than after the doctors rounded on her.. we found out our nurse practitioner, Liz will be leaving CHOC at the end of this week. This made us very sad because she's been a huge part of Harlow's treatment and has become a friend to us during this journey. But Harlow wanted to make her a picture so we did ☺️ After lunch Harlow said "play!" Which means she wanted to go in the play room. So we went in and she plays with animals and food. Haha. She named her horse "Cinch" (her papas horse is named cinch) and she fed him French fries. Than she walked over to the cars in the play room and wanted to go in one! So I spent the next hour pushing her iv pole and the toy car around the oncology hallways. Her smile was all worth it!
We met a new family this weekend who's son is her at choc about to start treatment. They graciously bought Harlow a toy bus and plane with little people to play with. She loves it!! I love how the oncology patients and parents are all one big family just trying to get through this journey we've been given. Each one is here to support the other.
We are hoping to go home within the week! So keep those prayers coming! ❤️ And please please pray for the Ankeny family. They are still heavy on my heart and will always remain there. Little things that happen through out the day remind me of Carter. Every act of kindness always brings his adorable face to my mind. When he himself wasn't feeling good, he would still play peek-a-boo with Harlow to make her smile. Jamie, Tim, and Tay.. we love you all so so much. 💗🙏🏻 #toddler#pediatriccancer#stemcelltransplant#bonemarrowtransplant#fighter#bravegirl
We do all we can to keep music appreciation alive in our daily lives. One of our teachers told us this saying: "You don't need to teach children to play music. Just leave well-tuned instruments laying around and tell them not to touch them." Funny. But there's so much we can do to maximize our cultural appreciation that will take us on amazing journeys of learning. We do keep instruments around and accessible. We gather regularly for community music-making. We attend concerts and appreciate anyone we come across who is sharing their music. We sing and play together whenever we feel inspired.
Here you can see my gals exploring resonance with our djembe. This happened spontaneously. They'd take turns playing while the other placed her head at the base to hear and feel the resonance.
