🔝N I N E India 📸...#2 🇮🇳
On our second day in Delhi we decided to venture out without a driver and use the Metro. Even after the culture shock that we experienced just the day before, the difference we felt in one day was quite surprising. Not only this, but we had heard that the metros were very clean and modern, and also really cheap and easy to use.
Although we started to feel more comfortable, Delhi is a city like no other and we had our challenges. It was not just the sights or smells that were overwhelming, but what we found the hardest to get used to, was the number of times people approached us. It was as though we were a walking tourist attraction ourselves! People stared at us, they came over to talk to us and even wanted photos with us.
We got off the Metro and decided to walk through the gardens that led up to India Gate. It was late afternoon and the gardens were full of families and tourists. It was here at India Gate that we experienced this strange situation most, but it happened to us all over India. It was daunting at first, but people were very friendly, and so we would just recommend that you stay vigilant. Although this was something completely alien to us, this only added to our experience of this weirdly wonderful country.
Today's Top 9: Favorite Movies
Okay, no introduction necessary. You get it. These aren't perfect movies. They're just my favorite. Praise and/or rant in the comments. I don't fucking care.
9. #InsideOut : Apparently some people think Inside Out is kinda mehhh... well, I don't get that. I couldn't see anyone disliking this movie. The animation is so inspired and original. The world that was built for this film is filled with so many creative ideas, from the idea of islands representing various important elements of Riley's personality, to the idea of dreams being like a film production... it's so damn smart and unique. The casting for this movie was fucking perfect too. Amy Poehler IS Joy. Lewis Black IS Anger... The humor is wonderful, the emotion is powerful; it's just a beautiful animated film, and in my opinion, it's Pixar's definite best.
8. The #LordOfTheRings Trilogy: Yeah, it's cheating... but let me explain. With some trilogies, each film can add to the overarching story while also standing on its own. And don't get me wrong, I'm not saying these movies don't stand on their own, but it's undeniable that they are best experienced in a long-ass marathon or something, due to their truly epic scope and extensive cast of characters. That said, these are some damn fuckin' great films. They're filled with so many memorable moments, epic battles, and great characters.
7. #TheDarkKnight : "THE DARK KNIGHT IS SO OVERRA---" Fuck off. Peel back the obsessive praise for one second... it's still fucking amazing. Overrated as it may be, it's still a masterclass of modern filmmaking. Nolan crafted a superb thriller here. The dynamic between Batman and the Joker is one of the most intriguing protagonist-antagonist relationships ever put to film. The themes of chaos and order are explored exceptionally well through the intense and thrilling story. Dramatic, powerful, dark, and exciting.
6. #ScottPilgrimVsTheWorld : There ain't another movie on planet earth that makes me laugh as loudly and as consistently as Scott Pilgrim. It's fast-paced, visually stunning, and fucking hilarious in its observations of the basic romantic relationship. Under... CONTINUED IN COMMENTS⬇️
