Richard Eugene Hickock and Perry Edward Smith were in prison when they heard from another prisoner that Herb Clutter was very wealthy and he had money stashed in a safe in his house.
After being released from prison in 1959 Hickock and Smith went to the Clutter home outside of Holcomb, Kansas. Once entering the home, they realized that there was not a safe. They awoke Herb Clutter who gave them the little cash he had and said there was no more. They aroused the remainder of the family and again searched the house. They ransacked the entire house getting no more than roughly fifty dollars, a pair of binoculars and a transistor radio. Once the two had all they could find, they executed all four family members.
When officers arrived, Herb Clutter, 48, lay sprawled on a mattress in the basement, stabbed, his throat slashed and a shotgun charge fired to his head. His hands were bound and his mouth was taped shut. On a couch in an adjoining room was 15-year-old Kenyon Neal Clutter, bound, gagged and shot in the head. In separate upstairs bedrooms were the bodies of Mrs. Bonnie Mae Clutter, 45, and Nancy Mae Clutter, 16. Mrs. Clutter was bound and gagged, Nancy only bound. Each had been shot in the head.
Hickock and Smith were executed by hanging on April 14, 1965. .
Gary was a serial killer who kept African American women in his basement as slaves. Most of the women he kept prisoner were prostitutes. Gary chained them, raped them, and beat them daily.
Gary fed his captives nothing but dog food. One of his slaves got sick and died. Gary cut her up, cooked her, and kept her in the freezer. The smell was God awful, and it permeated the neighborhood. The neighbors just couldn't stand it, and several called the police. Of course Gary assured police nothing was amiss, he had just burnt his food.
Gary ultimately fed the woman's body to the other slaves and the dogs. Deborah Dudley died next. She rebelled against Gary, so he electrocuted her to teach the others a lesson.
Finally, after months of torture, one of the women escaped and alerted police.
Gary was put to death by lethal injection on July 6, 1999. These are the crime scene pics.
On an April morning in 2013, 4 yr old Aron Siermans sat alone by his dead mother's body as the sun came up in Ballarat, Victoria. When his mother's friend dropped by to check on the single mum, who had not been returning text messages, Aron answered the door.
"There was a big man last night and he bashed Mummy with a bat," the little boy said. "Mummy won't wake up to give me any breakfast."
Single mum Sharon met her murderer on an online dating site, not realising he was a career criminal with more than 100 convictions to his name, most recently the brutal knife-point rape of a 52-year-old woman.
In the early hours of an April morning last year, he broke into her Ballarat home and attempted to rape her. When she fought back, he brutally bashed her with a cricket bat, then slit her throat and left her to die, all while her terrified son Aron hid nearby.
Jason John Dinsley pleaded guilty to the murder and attempted rape of Ballarat mother Sharon Siermans and aggravated burglary.
Dinsley was convicted of Sharon's murder in December, 2013.
Meanwhile, Aron has been left to live with his grandparents, John and Denise.

On June 14, 2015, Gypsy Rose Blancharde conspired with her boyfriend Nicholas Godejohn to murder Gypsy's mother, Claudinnea "Dee Dee" Blancharde. Dee Dee perpetuated a series of lies regarding Gypsy's health, claiming she had over a dozen serious medical conditions and forcing her to take medicine she did not need. This case is a compelling example of "Munchausen by Proxy" Syndrome in action. Want to learn more? Check out the link in my bio for my review of this crime's documentary, which I watched after listening to a @swordandscale ep. What do you think of this case? #brianamorganbooks#linkinbio
