🔥| A great warm up drill using the @tocafootball ball feeder.
Focus: Player must receive the ball with their back foot. As the ball arrives the player must open up the hips and the first touch should be with the inside of the foot towards their passing target. The perfect drill to teach this in a team setting is the 4v0 rondo.
Progression: Player receives the ball with the outside of their foot.
Player: LAFC Left back @jordancharvey
Understanding how to defend or defeat in 1 v 1 situations is a must for elite athletes. If you don't know how to do it, you will be exposed!
This is why 1v1 is a huge part of my soccer training sessions. @malpugh is one of the best in the world at reading and playing off of her defender!
🔀 @yamilasad spent last year on loan to @atlutd from Argentine club Velez Sarsfield, recording seven goals and 13 assists in 32 regular season appearances. His loan to Atlanta expired at the end of the year and he’s currently back in Argentina training with @velez Sarsfield.
Really enjoyed talking with good friend Paul Caligiuri (coach, #USMNT legend and USSF presidential candidate) and hearing his thoughts on how far the Beautiful Game has come in the US, its exciting future, and what can be done to overcome its shortcomings and take American soccer to a whole new level. With 110 caps for the United States, in 2004 Paul was inducted into the US National Soccer Hall of Fame, and he serves as an athlete representative on the USSF Board of Directors. His “Shot Heard Around The World”, the goal which took the USMNT to the 1990 🇮🇹 FIFA World Cup (the first time since 🇧🇷 40 years earlier), changed soccer forever in the USA https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q-JP0uay6Aw. #PHL18
