I have been feeling through the very subject of responsibility, the self enquiry has been deep and thorough, it has felt heavy and tiresome, I have allowed myself this gift of allowing, I know that this isn’t just “my stuff” persay, I know I am feeling it on a unified collective zone, I have been gentle on myself and acknowledged that this too shall pass, I know that sounds cheesy, although very true. When you feel the weight of the world on your shoulders, just embracing it will allow the shift. Accidentally stumbled into my “explore” tab here, and into a virtual sea of glutes, abs, supplements, miracle pills, and before and afters. (MAN do they know what I want to see!🙄).
Most of my thoughts are going out to my email tribe in the morning with some vital reminders about how to give your fitness and health Bullshit-o-Meter a tune up (sign up w link in bio!💌), but I wanted to leave this important note with you here tonight.
HEALTH does not look one, specific way. It’s not a body fat percentage, Fran time, calorie intake, back squat, body weight, diet, BMI, marathons completed, pant size or max set of pull ups. Health is SO MANY more things than any number on your fitness resumee, it’s more than an “after” photo, it’s more than a dedicated gym routine.
There’s a difference between really wanting something for yourself and working toward it from a place of love, and chasing some arbitrary number or aesthetic because that’s what most of the (asinine) fitness industry wants you to believe healthy looks like.
Remember that healthy and fit comes in a million flavors; that this time of year is dripping with magic pill promises and bikini-clad after photos; and just because you don’t have abs doesn’t mean you’re not perfectly healthy + strong as you are. 💜
⚡️Movement of the week:
Straight leg reverse crunches
• Keep feet over hips whenever Back is touching floor
• Grip onto rig or a friend’s ankles, begin movement by squeezing your abs & lifting hips off the floor
• Goal is to create a hollow body position from toes to shoulders, but AT LEAST keep booty off the floor through entire set
•Engaging your lats to press up will help pull your hips & back off the floor
