Still leaning out on day 39 of my juice fast/ solid food vacation. Not lifted any weight or really exercised much apart from in the garden for about 2 months.

When you get back late from a full on day of essay writing and high emotions (after a minor melt down last night)meaning you’re absolutely exhausted, you just need a bowl of comfort and goodness- five beans again (I know I need to switch things but can’t help it they’re so yum), a load of veg, nooch and some toast. Looking forward to going home tomorrow so so so so much and it’s very well needed so that’s been my focus to get through today. So important when you’re feeling overwhelmed to just take a moment to breath and put things into perspective and I’m so grateful for my friends for reminding me to do that last night and today. Hope you all have had a good Thursday despite the shit weather- almost the weekend yay ✨(also my giveaway with @vegavero_gb end in two days so don’t forget to enter xo) AND happy birthday to the amazing @emgainstrength ❤️
Motherhood was one of the hardest transitions I have ever experienced. It started with a hyperemisis pregnancy where I could not eat or drink anything without throwing it up. I couldn't enjoy food, yoga, going out with my husband or walking my dog without throwing up. I lost my job because of it. I lost my social life, my healthy strong body, my spunk and myself. I could see it happening as if I was watching a drama tv show on NBC and I'm going to tell the rest of the story as if it were just a story because it is easier that way.
Becoming a mother was slowly taking EVERY thing away from this girl! She was crying, puking, and telling herself to just get through it. That her baby was going to be worth it. She ended up getting an emergency c-section after a 28 hour labor with no pain meds because she wanted to do it naturally. Finally she had her baby boy in her arms and the puking had stopped. Now she just had to recover from major abdominal surgery. One day she woke up and had zero desire to get out of bed. She didn't want to hold her baby, talk to her husband or eat. She went to her doctor and came home with the answer: she had severe postpartum depression. Another pleasant surprise on her transition into motherhood.
Well let me interject right now. I did not quit. I wanted to. I really wanted to just check out and give up. But I didn't. I picked myself up and I climbed up out of that valley. I healed my body, I found my community, I found my spunk, I got my strong body back, I let go of my old life and embraced the new. I got to know myself as a mother and I learned how to calm my anxiety with exercise and how to balance my own dreams and aspirations with my family. Sometimes we have to let go of our old habits, beliefs and selves, crying and puking all the way down in order to find our true selves. I became the person I was meant to be and my purpose but it wasn't easy. I have always had high aspirations and big goals and now as a mom my WHY is even greater. Motherhood was not the thing that stopped me from achieving my dreams, as it turns out, it is what has inspired me to aim for the moon!

🦋2. For Humanity! Daily 40.000 children starve to death! 33% of wheat crops and 80% of soy crops worldwide are used to feed animals! For 1kg beef we have to use 16kg of food and around 15.000 litres of water. It's funny how vegans always get depicted as egoistic & narcissistic, but in reality we're doing the best possible to protect our species!
🐳3. For the environment! 40% of our rainforests had to pass for meadow lands and crops to feed the animals. Our ground water gets exposed to all kinds chemicals and slurry from the animals! Not good!
🐡4. For the climate! 51% of humanity's green house gas comes from factory farming.
🐠5. For yourself! Processed meat causes cancer, animal products may increase your risk of stroke and and and. The biggest upside still is that you just automatically eat more fruit & veggies & fiber when you're on a plant-based diet!
You'll also feel much better overall, recover better & just have positive vibes! Positivity is the key to everything🌿💚
🐟6. For the amazing food! Veganism is booming, there are sooo many delicious vegan options out there, not even counting the endless options you have with the plant-based staples. I mean look at my page, I post delicious food on a daily basis! #shamelessplug

New #goals . Instead of stepping on the scale, I’m going to focus on building muscle and loosing inches. The loosing weight part is easy as long as you change your diet and stay consistent (30 days to healthy living and beyond). I lost 19 lbs in 2 months last year following #30daystohealthyliving 90% of my life but I didn’t gain any muscle because I didn’t workout, so I felt super skinny! But I also felt squishy. I used to blame not working out on my SVT, but all that is is an excuse to not exercise. Because unlike my husband where working out is like therapy, working out has always felt like a chore for me (even though I always feel amazing after I workout 🤦🏻♀️). My meals in the morning are usually oatmeal, pancakes or waffles (both made of oats usually). I get excited about it every night before I fall asleep haha
You just have to find what works for you, I work at night so I have plenty of time to make breakfast in the morning. Overnight oats or smoothies would be really good options if you’re in a rush in the morning 🌱
