Honestly I can say the last year helped me to grow in ways I couldn't imagine... I've gained new perspectives ... I've managed to make peace with pass relationships and I've focused on myself and my son ... made myself a priority and did what make me happy... It's been a challenge to transition to a plant base lifestyle after my son getting sick and being hospitalized all the answers to his reoccurring ear infections came to light ...
Dairy was the underlying reason for his reoccurring ear infections !!! started educating myself about foods
I even punctured the middle layer of my ear Jan 2016 since it itched me consistently all my life I suffered with stuffy nose ,never knew it was my food allergies all along. Knowing this I've came across great leaders like #drsebi
who I'll always refer to as my saving grace ... sadly 2 weeks after my sis who was a vegan put me on to his videos he passed away 😭 I've used his products and I've been on and off his nutritional guide list of food as I've said before, it's a fight at times to eat clean ... I really felt like sharing this it's on my heart I'll continue to share and I hope to enlighten others on my jouney🤗🤗🤗
I’m asked all the time, “How do you start a healthy lifestyle?” or “I want to be healthy, but where do I start?” First off, it’s never too late and there’s never a better time to start than right now. Not Monday, not Sunday, not January 1st, but right now. Once you resolve to committing to a life of focusing on your wellness (instead of a certain period of time until a goal, like a number on the scale, is met), it’s less overwhelming - and much more sustainable. .
Knowing that you’re going to do your best to be healthy for the rest of your life is easier than a diet with a deadline. It’s easy to have a bad day on a diet and totally give up and takes two steps backwards. But, with a healthy lifestyle, one off day isn’t a big deal in the grand scheme of life -- and guess what, you are going to have bad days. .
You are going to have days when you eat everything in sight and not a single vegetable. You’re going to have days when you just NEED to eat that whole chocolate bar. Or have a few extra drinks, because you’re out celebrating with friends. However, as long as most days (I like to think of an 80/20 balance) you are nourishing your body and treating it right, you’ll live a happy and healthy balanced lifestyle. .
And although these INCREDIBLE pizzas I made today with @simplemills almond flour pizza dough (that’s #glutenfree#dairyfree#soyfree#gumfree#vegan and #paleo ), I don’t always eat this way. Sometimes, I order “regular” pizza - heck, I had Domino’s during my sister’s bachelorette this past weekend. 🍕
It’s all about making the right choice for your body, most of the time. The rest of the time, be kind to yourself - life is more important than the number on the scale, the size on your pants, or a label on your diet. There is just so much more to life! And there is a way to have it all. More on this (and the pizza recipes from my IG stories day!) coming soon to the blog, because I have a lot to say on this topic. Love you all 💙 #pizza#balance#healthy#lifestyle#loveyourself

Oil pulling is an ancient detoxification therapy mentioned in ancient Ayurvedic texts and is recommended as an easy, daily practice. Over time, “oil gargling” can improve oral health and help resolve many chronic conditions such as periodontal (gum) disease and cavities. It can also be helpful for acute illness. Oil pulling therapy has been touted as a strep throat remedy or to help resolve persistent sore throat issues.
Here’s another look at my cashew cream & mushroom #stuffontoast , and by popular demand (or, like, two people), a “recipe” of sorts for my simple cashew cream recipe. I use quotation marks (and the qualifying, “of sorts”) because I don't usually use a real recipe, I just kinda wing it by feel and taste and if I had more time or a different platform there would be tens of caveats and other modifiers.
But basically: soak 1 cup raw cashews in water (depending on the power of your blender you can do as little as 30 minutes, up to 24 hours, or more *see note below*); drain cashews and put in blender/food processor with 1/4 cup water, and a pinchful of salt and blend until smooth, add water and scrape down occasionally to reach desired consistency. Add salt as needed to taste. If you don’t plan on culturing the cheeze (see below) you can add a squeeze of lemon/lime juice or splash of vinegar during the blending phase to add some cheesy sharpness.
For culturing: Transfer to a clean jar and stir in something to culture the cream with. This could be a Tbsp of non-dairy yogurt, or a capsule of powdered probiotics, even a spoonful of sauerkraut juice. (I’m not totally sure of the food safety aspect of this, but sometimes I’ll forget to blend my soaked cashews for a day or two and they start smelling a little funky, I go right ahead and drain em and use em and hope it’s safe probiotics 🤷🏻♂️ When I’m done blending with these I don’t really add a culturing agent, I just jar it as is). Cover and let sit at room temp for 24-48 hours depending on how sharp of a taste you want. When it’s ready, refrigerate and it should be good for a week or so (if it lasts that long).
Additional flavorings: depending on what flavors you’re going for you have a pretty unlimited set of options to add during or after the blending phase, such as garlic, nooch, fresh herbs, liquid smoke, miso, etc. If you’re adding fresh herbs and don’t want it to turn into a green cream, chop and stir in by hand (or, ya know, spoon).
Roasted chickpea tacos on mashed avocado with pico de gallo on top 👌🏻✨🌮 literally tastes like you got it @ a taco truck but the best and most important thing is it’s cruelty-free! Plus,
