Day 14! And just like that, it's over. This juice cleanse has been a CHALLENGE to say the least, but it has helped me give my body the nutrients it's been lacking. Smoothies and juices are a great way to #drinkyourveggies and keep your body happy and healthy, and I'm looking forward to getting back into drinking them on a daily basis even now that this cleanse is over (and I think my pup is looking forward to it, too)! Day 14:
Smoothie #1 : Triple Berry Chia- Chia seeds, berries, banana, spinach
Smoothie #2 : Green Machine- green, parsley, cilantro, basil, apple, lemon, help seeds
Smoothie #3 : Pineapple Nutmeg- carrots, pineapple, banana, coconut water, Nutmeg, cinnamon
Solid Foods- apple, banana, roasted veggies, avocado
According to Anthony Williams, author of Medical Medium, “Oregano, thyme, rosemary, and sage are powerful disease-fighting foods that each have a different healing focus. When you eat all of them regularly, their individual properties complement each other, enhancing their ability to defend against pathogens in the body, like Epstein-Barr virus, shingles, streptococcus, E. Coli, H. pylori, C. difficile, MRSA, and fungus…
Oregano, thyme, rosemary, and sage together have antiviral, antibacterial, and anti-fungal properties that can help with hundreds of health conditions and symptoms, including small intestinal bacterial overgrowth (SIBO), peptic ulcers, strep throat, food allergies, Lyme disease, ear infections, sinusitis, diverticulitis, vertigo, ringworm, eye infections, respiratory infections, rashes, abdominal pain, dizziness, fatigue, blisters, excess mucus, neuralgia, flatulence, itching, nausea, edema, herpes, and gum infections.” They also bring calm and peace when you are chronically overstimulated, stressed out, and feeling emotionally overreactive.
#Sage , #oregano , #rosemary , and #thyme are also especially beneficial when used raw in salads, dressings, dips, water, #juices , #smoothies , and other drinks.
Dink "medicinal” teas by steeping freshly picked herbs your garden in water. If you can’t get hold of fresh herbs that easily, buy some from your farmer’s market or local organic shop and dry a bunch of different #herbs out by hanging them up, or laying them out. Store them in an air-tight jar when fully dry. Don’t bother with the low grade #teabags that abound on the market, they really aren’t up to the job! #uglybynature
The study (link in the bio) was carried out by academics from Austria and Switzerland. They found that the gladiator diet was grain-based and mostly meat-free. This is in line with contemporary reports which referred to gladiators as 'hordearii' (meaning barley eaters).
The bone analysis was based on excavations of the graves of 22 gladiators from about 1,800 years ago in the Roman town of Ephesus, now in Turkey. At the time, Ephesus was the capital of the Roman province of Asia and had over 200,000 inhabitants.
The examination of bones also found evidence they drank a drink made from plant ashes. This ash drink was a form of health-boosting tonic to help gladiators recover after fighting and training.
Okay I know what you're thinking, this doesn't look homemade.. well it wasn't!😎 Had some last minute plans before work so instead of cooking I picked up an AMAZING Kahlo Bowl with quinoa from @artcafenyack to take to work😍 So yeah, I'm still very happy and hey I got my quinoa and beans like a wanted right? RIGHT👅 I know you can't see it in the picture but trust me there's a TON of quinoa underneath, which makes for a very happy vegan😋 Also their tahini dressing on top is to die for🤤, seriously so so good! I could (and probably would) eat that on its own. But putting it on top of a quinoa bowl is even better! I'm going to go devour this while I have the chance so I hope everyone has a great night!🌱 #roadtorecovery
This happens all over the UK and of course around the world and if you think it's any better to buy 'organic or free range' then think, would it be okay to kill our dogs and eat them because we've gave them a good life? And all these 'farmed animals' end up at the same slaughter houses and if you think humane slaughter is a real thing then would it be okay for me to take someone out for dinner, treat them to a lovely evening, drug her and rape her whilst she's unconscious? Remembering she's had a really nice evening... ? Of course it wouldn't be, because there is no such thing as 'humane rape' just as there isn't such a thing as 'humane slaughter' it's just another euphemism to make ourselves feel better and wilfully ignore the exploitation, torture, rape, mutilation and murder of these beautiful innocent beings. There is no justification of this brutality and we can not kill anyone that does not want to die, we have no right. We can't say we love animals and support this, especially when there is a much healthier option, and if you don't want to be healthier, then that's fine💁🏿 there's vegan versions of EVERYTHING we've got crisps, chocolate, ice cream, sweets, steaks, burgers and the list goes on! There's no excuse, you have the power to stop this, by going vegan you can save up to 200 animals each year to be bred into this horrible painful existence that they will have to endure. Be on the right side of history and support equality 🐄🐖🐓
I get asked all the time what it is I eat, being an active vegan and all. I'm happy to report it's more than lettuce and carrots! 🥕 #rabbitfood .
This is close to two week's worth of food for me, and it doesn't have the unsweetened original almond milk and roasted garlic pasta sauce I forgot to include in it! Every week looks different, and it just depends on what I'm in the mood for! 😍
Of course, I will need to get another jar of peanut butter because I go through a jar a week #peanutbuttermonster , and I also don't buy condiments every week to go with my dishes. 👌
It definitely does take some time and preparation/dedication, but I've found that it pays off in the long run. I end up saving money because I don't eat out very often (it also helps that I'm vegan/don't have a lot of options around here in regards to restaurants), and I know exactly what's in my food! Plus, over time, it just becomes habit. I don't even think about it anymore. 🍌
Anyways, I like to geek out over posts like this. #foodporn I also wanted any new vegans out there to know you CAN be vegan, shop on a budget, and THRIVE with your main source of groceries coming from Walmart. 👍
Today was an amazing adventure. We made it to Eagle Rock. 7.5 miles There and back! Friends that hike together stay friends together! My love and I always strive to spend time together in our busy loves and today's time was well spent! Adventure is out there, you just have to go out and find it! #lifestyle#hiking#vegan#exercise#happiness

Catch ya on the flip side everyone🤘🌱 #roadtorecovery
pb and banana toast might be my favorite toast combination! @foodforlifebaking 7 sprouted grain bread with @crazyrichardspb, banana, cinnamon, and chia seeds! 😋🍌 also unpictured almond milk and nectarine, as seen on my story!
hope everyone has an awesome Sunday! 💓💓
Oats + blueberries + cinnamon + almond butter😛 And people think vegans just eat grass! I'm telling you guys, don't underestimate the power of frozen fruit because they're DELICIOUS😍 I've been mixing my almond butter into the oats because it's too thick to drizzle #teamthick 😜 All jokes aside this was amazing so try this combo! Tastes just like blueberry pancakes but takes less than 5 minutes to make😎 Sounds like a win-win situation to me👅 Have a happy Sunday everyone!🌱 #roadtorecovery
Hemp seeds > eating animals ?
✅Hemp seed is 33% protein
✅Hemp seed is 35% essential fatty acid. (Omega 3, 6, 9 and GLA)
✅Contains all 9 essential amino acids.
✅Contains 6.2 x more Omega-3 than raw tuna
✅Contains an abundant source of GLA.
✅Rich in trace minerals.
✅High in dietary fiber.
When people say dead animals are better sources of protein you can only laugh. It's not about meat not giving protein，it's about all the other crap that comes with eating meat. Carcinogenic，high cholestoral，high saturated fats，antibiotics，hormones，zero fibre. And then there is the small issue of putting animals through a life of suffering and a violent death...
