New in the shop, mid century silver rimmed cocktail set, which includes six 10oz glasses and one matching ice bucket. ✨ Mad Men fans: doesn't this set remind you of Don Draper's office bar? 🥃
Bar cart, recipe box, & booze are not included. 😎
In addition to vintage costume jewelry I also LOVE vintage glassware. I started collecting glass and bar ware way back in the early 80s. My first purchase was a vintage 50s cocktail shaker that I bought for $.10! I have about 20 shakers and loads of glassware. With the popularity of the TV show Mad Men, the vintage glassware has gotten much harder to find at thrift stores and flea markets. Having a bar cart in your home has also contributed to the popularity of vintage bar ware. It's hard to top the "cool factor", of these well made and evocative glassware. What about you? Do you have any vintage bar and glassware?
I took that homemade "punt-e-mes" and I put it in a Vieux Carre, since New Orleans knows what to do with sweet vermouth:
1 oz rye whiskey
1 oz Spanish brandy
1 oz house Punt-e-Mes
1 barspoon Benedictine
2 dashes each Angostura and Peychaud's bitters
Stirred, on a big block of ice, with a lemon twist garnish.
What a perfect drink, boozy and smooth and rich, with layers of spice. The bittersweet vermouth doesn't overturn the flavor profile of this drink, but I does add a darker edge. 🥃
Has anyone tried their own Punt-e-Mes? Any suggestions?
