Wow! Heart Walk ❤️ effort continues to climb. After just anonymously receiving a $500 donation, we are now up to 68.8% of the overall $5,000 fundraising goal with only 12 days left. Let's keep it up folks! ------------------------------------------------------ Today's pictures are from June 2017 where Kameran and Casey tied the knot in beautiful Smithfield, NC. I've known these two for quite some time. Kameran and I went to the same high school and re-connected through rugby. She's someone whose very sure of herself; a trait I have a great deal of respect for. Casey is my guy from the ECU glory days; he was Captain of the rugby team so I blame him for any wrongdoing since what can I say...I was simply following my leader 😂. He is a thoughtful person whom I distinctly remember making a big impression on my late father [even more the reason he has my deep respect]. I believe Casey and Kameran are great for each other mainly because of their willingness to continually develop their relationship through friendship. Needless to say, with caring deeply for both people, I was beyond excited to perform their ceremony. It started well watching Coach Lee offload his daughter to Casey. Fathers walking their daughters down the aisle is my favorite part. All was good until technical difficulties kicked in with the microphone. Had to make a snap decision and just use the ole diaphragm so the cheap seats could hear me. Kameran and Casey incorporated their own vows which honestly did not surprise me and frankly made my job easier. Neither disappointed. Both shared touching words with Casey even going off the cuff [impressive!]. I loved the spontaneity of the moment and felt so fortunate to be a part of Mr. & Mrs. Clapp's big day!

There are cute kids in this world; there are endearing kids; then there are those kids who radiate infectious joy with a tilted smile. Pierre has every reason to fall short of this category as his windswept legs have made running and play time harder - but they haven’t shuttered the light of his joy in the slightest. Everyone who comes in contact with Pierre’s quiet, unassuming confidence is changed for the better. Now, thanks to the opportunity to receive free orthopedic surgery, Pierre’s future will be changed for the better too.⠀
So at my first meeting with Gina Lopez, I get to be immersed at her advocacy projects right in the heart of the leading media institution of our country and with my professors! Also be sitting alongside her, be in between her and my idol professor at this picture, sharing her meal with me (coz I said I don't eat pork), and again be the youngest in the room!
How did this happen? All because I said that I want to join. --YOUR PASSION CAN BRING YOU FAR, BELIEVE ME. This is just the beginning of our journey.

"Yang paling berkesan itu, waktu kita main permainan tradisional. Itu mengingatkan saya sama masa kecil saya, semacam ada nostalgianya. Selain itu juga, saya senang bisa lihat senyuman dan tawa adik-adik waktu bermain." - Ikhsan Ardiansyah @ikhsanardian (Kurikulum)
"From 2010-2012, I lived in Bamako where I worked on a USAID-funded education contract as a Communications Specialist. During my third year, and Peace Corps Response extension, I took photos and wrote success stories for a primary school teacher training project that used radio as a medium for instructional support to reach over 16,000 teachers daily throughout the entire country." - Jennifer Bangoura, Mali 2008-2012.

#Flashback to my #volunteer days at various NGOs.
While I was studying for my masters degree and at various other times, I volunteered my services and knowledge. Some people didn't understand the concept of #volunteering , thus, labelled me a fool for offering free service.
Volunteering needs to be integrated into the socialization processes of individuals, especially among #youth in #Nigeria .
#everythingisnotmoney . Volunteer some hours of your time and expertise to a good cause in your #community
Thanks to the organisations I worked with for the opportunity to train, learn and work in programmes such as HIV, PMTCT, HCT, OVC welfare, research and documentation, community development, youth counselling and women empowerment. I learnt a lot! I can test for HIV and many more now.... winks.
For #God#humanity and #development .
