My appreciation for limes has been growing. Truly, winter is the time to add citrus fruits to your diet. The flavor is leagues beyond what they taste like in summer.
Sometimes I swap limes for lemons in my morning hot lemon water or I add it to vegan taco bowls.
I've made it a habit to practice yoga daily, but last night, I worked out my own flow. It felt so empowering to shut my eyes and let how my body felt guide my practice. In my spare time I've been reading about the body mechanics of poses and which poses connect to which chakras. I feel like my studying is paying off. ✌ Who else feels like practicing has had a positive impact on their life?

Can I rant a bit about Carbs!?! ... okay, thank you! Here it goes ... I’m so tired of hearing about how bad Carbs are for folks! Argh! This salad bowl is nothing but GOOD and it’s 100% Carbs! Fruits and veggies are the very definition of good for you and they are Carbs! If it’s processed, bleached, and stripped of nutrients, it shouldn’t have the right to be called FOOD ... period! Okay, thank you ... I feel much better! 🤯😂😘

I started with a bed of spinach, sautéed some zucchini in garlic, coconut aminos, and hot sauce, plus steamed broccoli, peas, black beans, roasted sweet potato and a dollop of @hummustir (which is my favorite oil free hummus I’ve tried thus far) 🙌🏻
Topped it all off with everything but the bagel seasoning because it truly makes everything taste amazing 😋

Oh my gosh! I just got my @vivobarefoot shoes in the mail yesterday, perfect timing for leg day this morning. Honestly, switching from @nike runners with “support” on them to #barefootshoes is a change. It feels weird for the first 15 minutes or so and then it feels natural. I’ve seen so much and read so much on shoes and barefoot shoes and today’s society in what should be on your feet, that I wanted to try a pair of barefoot shoes out.
I grew up spending most of my time barefoot just because that’s how my mum was. I loved it! These shoes make it feel like you are walking around in thick socks and it’s wonderful.
For leg day I really felt connected to the gym floor and felt that I had more grounding when it came to squatting or doing any exercise.
I know from now on I will be wearing barefoot shoes when I do leg day, probably everyday at the gym in general. Next thing on my to do list is get a pair for work and a pair for casual days, then I can feel barefoot all day everyday 😁😁
Of course I will still keep all my other shoes, even my heels, just because sometimes work or life requires a certain dress code and barefoot shoes unfortunately do not fit into that dress code.

THIS. IS. ME. i wish i was one of those people who when they were stressed they just work out to relieve it...but i’m not. i wouldn’t even consider myself a stress eater. when i’m stressed, i sit and wallow in pity for myself and don’t do anything when everything around me closes me in screaming it needs to be done. im getting so worked up about money, buying a new car (because mine is now totaled!), working a second job, cleaning, eating well, AND working out. it’s so overwhelming and instead of doing one thing at a time, i would rather sit and piddle on my phone and try to forget about it all and still constantly think about it at the same time. i need to rewire my brain into doing things differently but it’s so hard to change and honestly i don’t know how. even just posting this is an escape to the things i need to be doing. i’m so worried about the future even though i should only be worried about the 24 hours ahead of me. this is not how i pictured the beginning of my 2018 going, but i have 11 months still ahead, and i can still turn it around. one thing, one step, one day at a time i can figure it out. i need to get my head on straight. i just wish it was easy.

I've been under the weather this week (for the first time in 14 years lol) and my mom got up at 4am to cook me this veggie soup for FROM SCRATCH before heading off to her full time job. 🍜🍜 She also made me oatmeal and cut up some oranges for me. 😊😊 Serious mom gains going on, and this soup was just what I needed. Love ya mom! 💚💚
These past few days have been super busy. When life gets crazy I love to throw together simple but healthy meals. Today’s lunch was sesame ginger grilled tofu with a bean, asparagus, cucumber, and red pepper/onion mixed salad topped with fresh lemon juice! Lots of protein and healthy veggies to keep you satiated and satisfied! Have an awesome day!
Eat a wholesome bowl like this and there’s no way you’ll be be hungry. You’ll only be hungry if you’re not eating enough for your size & activity levels. Trust your body and your intuition and you’ll do just fine 😊
